Greetings:
By now you have hopefully received the invitation to join me in reading the Gospel of Mark for Lent. If not, consider this to be your official invite. Below you will find a link to the reading schedule (about a half a chapter a day not including Sundays) for reading Mark during the 40 days of Lent. Each week, we will send out the weekly readings to remind you, and I will include a thought or question regarding one of the passages you will come across during that week. It will coincide with the passage I will be preaching on the next Sunday. This week we are looking at Mark 2:1-12. My Weekly Thought is this: In this passage the scribes accuse Jesus of blasphemy. In their desire to "protect" the faith, they miss out on seeing it practiced in new, unexpected and transformative ways. Do we do the same today? If so, how? See you Sunday!
Dr. Todd Jordan
Senior Pastor

ONLINE SHOPPING-www.umcmarket.org
Lots of online retailers will give a percentage of your purchase to
Strawbridge UMC through the UMCmarket! All you need to do is visit www.umcmarket.org and register. Specify the church, "Kingwood Strawbridge". Then when you're ready to buy, just log into your UMCmarket account and shop at any of the partner retailers and, PRESTO, a percentage of the sale is given to the church. We need $100 in the account before we get a check, so the more the site is used the more the church benefits.
Shopping has never been so easy and you don't have to leave home, fight the crowds or find that perfect parking spot!
