Greetings:

Todd Jordan
Serving is an important part of our Christian discipleship.  Jesus himself reminds us in Mark 10:45 that he "came not to be served but to serve."  In order to drive the message of servanthood home to his disciples, in John 13 we find our Lord and Savior washing their feet-something only the lowliest of slaves would be expected to do.  Christ taught that just as he humbly kneels to serve us, we should go forth to serve others.  I hope you will join me Sunday morning as we remember the words and actions of Jesus, we examine the humility and service in the early church in Acts 2, and we celebrate ways our church provides opportunities for us to serve today.

ONLINE SHOPPING-www.umcmarket.org
Lots of online retailers will give a percentage of your purchase to Strawbridge UMC through the UMCmarket! All you need to do is visit www.umcmarket.org and register. Specify the church, "Kingwood Strawbridge".  Then when you're ready to buy, just log into your UMCmarket account and shop at any of the partner retailers and, PRESTO, a percentage of the sale is given to the church. We need $100 in the account before we get a check, so the more the site is used the more the church benefits.
