Todd Jordan
Greetings:

Not long after Jesus triumphantly rode into Jerusalem, he found himself at odds with the local leadership. Having made a mess of the money-changing booths at the Temple, Jesus quickly went from local hero to lowly scapegoat. We all know how the story will turn out, but what is the message behind the cleansing of the Temple, and how does it help us prepare for the crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ? Join me this Sunday as we Turn the Tables on our Walk With Jesus and examine the relevance of Mark 11:8-10, 15-19.

 Dr. Todd Jordan,

                         Senior Pastor

Mission Focus

Howard's House

The Mission emphasis for April will be Habitat for Humanity. We are raising the funding this year for our 2016 Habitat "build". The financial sponsorship for a house is now about $55,000. We would like to underwrite this house ("Howard's House") in memory of Howard Deterding, whose great passion was for changing lives through Habitat. If you would like to honor Howard's memory and support this important outreach effort, please plan to make a memorial gift during April. Checks can be made payable to Strawbridge with "Habitat" or "Howard's House" in the memo line.

New Directions Class Study "Respectable sins "

Have Christians become so preoccupied with "major" sins that we have lost sight of our need to deal with more subtle sins? Navigator author Jerry Bridges addresses the "acceptable" sins that we tend to tolerate in ourselves, including pride and anger. He goes to the heart of the matter, exploring our feelings of shame and grief and opening a new door to God's forgiveness and grace. Travel down the road of spiritual formation with Jerry and discover your true identity as a loved child of God."   Come join us in Room 207.

Volunteer Opportunities

Weekly Groundskeeper Needed

Do you like to hang out and talk to friends and members after the second church service on Sundays? If you answered "yes," the Sexton Ministry has a fun task for you. We need three to four volunteers, who would be willing to unplug and empty out the coffee grounds each week.

The "emptying of the grounds" takes approximately 15 minutes. There are four coffee pots and one tea pot that will need to be emptied each week.  If you are interested in this incredible volunteer opportunity please contact Chuck Rollo at [email protected]

Bordersville Community Center

The Bordersville Community Center in Humble is

partnering with HAAM to provide a monthly lunch for

seniors in the area. Strawbridge wants to get involved! The first lunch will be Thursday, April 9 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We will serve food, mingle with the guests, and play bingo. Volunteer opportunities include food preparation, food service, bingo calling, and just hanging out being friendly! This is a great opportunity to share the love of Christ with others. The Bordersville Community Center is located at 19301 Hightower Lane, Humble, 77338. A volunteer sign-up sheet is currently in the Activity Corridor. Please contact Katie Marvin to volunteer and/or get more information at [email protected]
