Hi folks! I've got three things to tell you about today: a Knit Along, Knittervention, and an upcoming yet-unnamed event. Read on for the details. Then next week, I'm jumping back on the once-a-week-shorter newsletter bandwagon, so watch for it!

A knit along (KAL for short) is when a group of people are working on the same project at the same time. Double Ewe Knit Alongs are a little bit like classes, but sort of casual classes. They are free to attend, but we do ask that you purchase your supplies at Double Ewe. This time around we'll be working on cabled hats, and you'll have three to choose from. If you've never knit cables, this is the perfect time to learn! And if you've knit cables before, maybe pick one of the more challenging hats. Materials: All three hats each take about 2 skeins of Misti Maki, a worsted weight blend of merino and alpaca. It's a great yarn that doesn't break the bank, and it works really well for these hats. All three patterns are for sale on Ravelry, either in the shop or on your own. Needles depend on the pattern selected. You'll also need a cable needle. Dates: Thursdays, August 4 & 11 Time: 4:00 - 6:00 pm Cost: Free, but please purchase your supplies at Double Ewe To sign up, give us a call at 763-795-9276, but if you forget to call, you can show up anyway. Remember...it's a KAL and casual. So, come join us, either to learn or just for fun! Cables are so fun, and they're so much easier than they look. See you then!

It's the end of the work week. Are you feeling stressed out? Has the hot weather got you down? Feeling a little twitchy without needles/hooks in your hands? It's time for a Knittervention!! When: Friday, August 12 Time: 6:30 - 10:00 What to bring: Your project, unless you want to start something new. I know a lady with some yarn for sale... ;)
We'll be having snackie-type food, and coffee, tea & water will be available. If you'd like to bring something to share, feel free to bring it, but please don't feel obligated - there will be plenty to munch on.
Join us at Double Ewe for a fun time to hang out, de-stress, chat, snack, laugh, and relax. Ahhhhhhh.

Two Years??? And What About WWKIP Day?
I don't know how it happened, but two years have gone by since we re-opened Double Ewe. Wow! That calls for a celebration!
Also, this year we missed World Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKIP) due to a family conflict.
We're still working out the details, but I wanted to get the date an your calendar so you can plan accordingly. I'm not sure what it's going to be called, but why don't you just go ahead and write "Double Ewe" on the September 24th square on your calendar. I'll fill you in on the rest next month. :)

Hanging Out at Double Ewe
Come knit & crochet with us! Work on whatever you want, no registration, no string attached, just show up. Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 9 Friday afternoons, 1:30 - 5:30 And on most Saturdays, you'll find me knitting at the coffee table - come join me! We gather these times each week, however if you find yourself with some time to kill, or you just want a little escape, stop on by anytime we're open and find a spot around the coffee table. Please note: Open knitting is not a class. Although we're always happy to answer questions as time permits, sometimes it gets a bit hectic. For more dedicated help, consider coming to one of Kelly's Workshops: Wednesdays from 4-6, Thursdays from 10-12. $5 per class.
On a personal note, yes, we're expecting another grandchild! We found out today that it's a boy. Whee!! Buh bye.
