Who's Who at Double Ewe:  Nancy McElmurry

Over the past weeks, we've introduced you to the gals that work at Double Ewe.  Now we thought it would be fun for you to learn a little bit  more about the folks who teach here.

Favorite Craft:  Knitting

What other crafts do you enjoy?
I used to make most of my own clothes, but my sewing skills have gotten rather rusty in the last 30 years.  I've dabbled in crochet, crewel embroidery, counted cross stitch, but I always come back to knitting.

How long have you been knitting?
I learned to knit right after my 6th birthday, and have knit at least one thing every year since.  I've been avidly knitting since 1985.

Favorite knitting technique?
I enjoy stranded color work and have been enjoying lace the last couple of years.  Basically, I like to try lots of things and go in phases of what interests me most.

Favorite items to knit?
I like garment construction, so I have made lots and lots of sweaters and socks.  I am enjoying shawls these days.

Do you put your projects on Ravelry?
I have put projects on Ravelry beginning in January 2015.  You can see them here:  Minnesotanancy's Projects

Family?
I live with my husband of almost 42 years, Brian.  We have two adult children and two granddaughters.

Past jobs?  I retired at the end of 2014 from Council Wealth Management where I kept books.  Prior to that I worked at Northwestern College after working at Church Upon the Rock.  All my jobs have been staff support and administrative assistanting.

Other hobbies (not fiber-related):
Reading.  Walking and biking when weather permits, and traveling to see family as they are all out of state.
