Good day!
In last weeks newsletter, I mentioned that I'm going to try out sending my newsletters more often...perhaps once-a-week-ish.  It might take me a while to get into the routine, and I might learn that I just don't have enough to share once a week, so bear with me for a bit while I get it figured out.  My hope is that the newsletters will be a bit shorter, a bit quicker for me to put together, and bit more timely.  In any case, thanks for reading!

Thanksgiving Week

We're here again, teetering on the brink of the holiday season.  There's already been so much talk on social media about which stores are going to be open on Thanksgiving, which stores aren't, where are the best Black Friday deals, and what about Small Business Saturday?  Cyber Monday?!  Yikes!  I almost forgot that one!    It's enough to make a person a little weary of it all.

Now, I know a lot of you really enjoy preparing for the holidays:  the baking, the decorating, parties, family get-togethers,  Christmas music...all the good stuff.  Such a fun time.

But I  know something else.  I know that for lots of folks, the holidays are a very stressful, maybe even lonely time.  With this in mind, my wish for the next 6 weeks is for Double Ewe to be an oasis of calm.  An escape.  A respite.

So, we won't be having any crazy Black Friday hours (just our normal ones); on Small Business Saturday, we hope you'll support small businesses such as Double Ewe, but we hope that all year long.  We might play Christmas music now and then, but not all day every day.  Really, I love the holidays, but I don't love the frenzy.

So, if you need a break, come to the shop, settle in, knit or crochet a bit, breath deep and exhale.  Things will calm down soon.

Thanksgiving Week Hours
We'll be open our regular hours this week, except on Thanksgiving Day:
Tuesday 10-9
Weds 10-6
Thanksgiving Day Closed
Friday 10-6

Posted November 12
During the time I was closed, I crocheted some animal hats.  Actually quite a few animal hats.  Some for my grandkids, some for friend's babies, some for the Pediatric Unit at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.  In my search for patterns, I came across a designer, Ira Rott, who had awesome instructions and TONS of cute patterns, mostly crochet, some knit.

Why am I telling you this?  Ira Rott recently made her patterns available for Ravelry in-store sales - this means, even if you don't use Ravelry yourself, Double Ewe can set you up with her patterns.  SO cute, well written, and fun.

Check out some of my projects:  My Ira Rott Bundle
