Good day, folks!
I hope you're all having a pleasant summer; I know I am. :) Francis and I had a really nice vacation in early July - we spent 9 days in Oregon. Most of the time we were on the coast, finishing up with a couple of days in Portland. So much fun. Portland is similar to our metro area in that there are TONS of yarn shops. We visited a total of 11 shops on our trip. It was great inspiration for me, and just plain fun.

Summer Classes
We're coming to the tail end of our summer class schedule, but we still have a few spots in some great classes. I'm stil working on our fall schedule, so you're going to have to wait for a bit on that. You can see the class schedule here: Summer Class Schedule. We have openings left in:
Beginning Crochet, Happy Hoppin' Hands, and Fixing Mistakes.
If you're interested in signing up for any of these classes, just give us a call at 763-795-9276. And don't forget, my drop in classes are going on all summer. Again, details in the schedule.

New Stuff New stuff is arriving all the time. If you want to see what's new more often, consider following us on Facebook or Instagram; links are above on the right.
I've created "Bundles" for some of our new the new yarns. Basically it's a quick way of seeing some examples of projects with the yarns. It's a Ravelry feature, but you don't have to be a member of Ravelry to see them, so click on the links and check them out!
Wooly Worsted from Ewe Ewe Ravelry Bundle You may have heard me rave about Ewe So Sporty and how much I love it...well, Wooly Worsted is it's big sister. Sproingy, soft, washable 100% merino in a bright, fresh palette of 20 colors. Can you tell I'm excited about this one? It's perfect for so many things: garments, hats, mittens, cowls, shawls, and don't forget babies. I couldn't wait to try it out, so I whipped up this cowl:

Woolcotte from Plymouth Yarn Ravelry Bundle Woolcotte is an easy-care, very soft blend of acrylic, cotton, and a touch of wool in a chunky weight. We've got it available in all 8 colors, and it's been very popular in the short time we've had it. If you click the link above, you'll find a bunch of patterns written especially for it, and they're all available at the shop. I knit up a Cap Sleeve Cardigan vest, and it turned out so nice! This pattern is available at the shop as well.

Splash Dyed Worsted Merino Superwash & Baby Alpaca Grande from Plymouth Speckles are so hot right now! And we've got 'em for you in a chunky baby alpaca and a superwash merino worsted weight. What happy yarn!
--------------------
Jilly with Cashmere from Dream in Color A beautiful box arrived this month, full of Jilly with Cashmere - a gorgeous hand-dyed blend of merino and cashmere. We've got 12 colors - these are just my favorites. You really need to see & touch these in person. Gorgeous.
--------------------
Anne from Circulo Ravelry Bundle Anne is a fingering weight 100% cotton. Vibrant, solid colors, excellent for both crochet & knitting. My bundle above has lots of ideas. I decided we needed fresh coasters at the shop, so I whipped some up. The pattern is from "101 Crochet One-Skein wonders", available at Double Ewe.
-------------------- Homestead Tweed from Plymouth Yarn Ravelry Bundle This is my kind of yarn: good, basic 100% wool in an aran weight. We've had Homestead in 21 solid colors for quite some time, but now it's available in tweeds. Yay! I love tweeds! These mittens were knit with a solid Homestead, but they'd be awesome in Homestead Tweed as well, pattern free on Ravelry.

Hanging Out at Double Ewe
Join us for a fun social time while working on whatever you want. No registration required, no strings attached, just show up. We have three times set up for you to join us:
- Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 9:00
- Friday afternoons, 1:30 - 5:30
- Saturdays, starting at 9:00am
We gather three times each week, however if you find yourself with some time to kill, or just want a little escape, stop on by anytime we're open and find a spot around the coffee table; enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and relax a while.
Please note: Open Knitting is not a class. Although I'm always happy to answer questions as time permits, sometimes it gets a bit hectic. For dedicated help, consider coming to one of our Knitter's Choice classes.
