Summery Stuff - SUMMER HOURS, Memorial Day & Classes

Good day, friends!

I've got a short & sweet newsletter for you all today.  Somehow, Memorial Day has crept up on me, and I haven't sent any news to you in over 6 weeks.  Yikes!  So, here's the latest scoop:

Memorial Day Hours

Since Memorial Day is on a Monday, and we're normally closed on Sundays & Mondays, it's business (or not-business) as usual for us.   However, starting on this Saturday, May 23rd, we're switching to our summer hours.  Read on...

Summer Hours

With the  arrival of warm weather, apparently some people don't knit or crochet as much as in the cold  months.  (I know...strange...right?  :)   As the shop slows down a bit, we try to find ways to reduce our expenses, so we can save up for the yarny goodness that is Fall.  So.  We're going to tweak our business hours a bit.  It's mostly going to be the same, except on Tuesdays we're opening couple of hours later than normal, and on Saturdays we're closing a couple of hours earlier than normal.  No big deal, right?  Thanks for understanding.

Starting this Saturday, May 23rd, our hours are:

Tuesdays:  Noon - 9pm

Weds - Fridays:  10 - 6pm

Saturdays:  9 - 3pm

Enjoy your summer, but remember to garden in the day and knit at night.

Save the Date:

Remember, June 13 is Knit in Public Day.  Details to come, but mark it on your calendar.  WWKIPDay is fun!

Summer Classes & KALs

We're thrilled to have Diane Augustin join us this summer for some fun classes:  Crochet, knitting with beads, fun stuff like that.  We've also got some fun knit along projects planned.

For details, please click here for the Summer Class Schedule, or stop by the shop for a copy.
  • Knitting with Nancy Lindberg - Nancy is taking a break for the summer, but before she does that, she has a 4-session class starting this Thursday, April 21.  Call the shop asap if you'd like to join in the fun:  763-795-9276.
  • Kelly's Workshop:  Knitter's Choice - an inexpensive drop-in style class where you can learn new techniques, learn with friends, or get unstuck on a project.  Just about anything goes:  it's your choice.  This will continue all summer long.
  • Knit Alongs:  Sidera, Colorwork Hats, Grazing Sheep Project Bag and Fixing Mistakes
  • Summer Evenings with Diane:  Beginning Crochet, Granny Squares, Easy Beaded Scarf, Spiral Stars Cowl, Fibonacci Cowl, Happy Hopping Hands

These are just a few of the projects - check the class schedule for all of them:

Hanging Out at Double Ewe

Join us for a fun social time while working on whatever you want.  No registration required, no strings attached, just show up.  We have three times set up for you to join us:

  • Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 9:00
  • Friday afternoons, 1:30 - 5:30
  • Saturdays, starting at 9:00am

We gather three times each week, however if you find yourself with some time to kill, or just want a little escape, stop on by anytime we're open and find a spot around the coffee table; enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and relax a while.

Please note:  Open Knitting is not a class.  Although I'm always happy to answer questions as time permits, sometimes it gets a bit hectic.  For dedicated help, consider coming to one of our Knitter's Choice classes.

That's all for now, folks!  Once again, I'd like to thank you all for supporting your local yarn shop.
