A Word from Dr. Collins
Dear SGES Family,
St. George's is a place where energy is high; however, this week it was "off the charts." We had a super spirit week and I think students and faculty enjoyed the activities. Last night at spirit night, we recognized our 8th grade basketball players and cheerleaders and thanked them for their commitment and leadership.
Our basketball season is winding down with our middle school end of the year tournament in Macon this weekend. The middle school girls play tonight at 6 pm at the Hephzibah Children's Ministries and the boys play at 7 pm. The junior varsity teams finish their season on Monday night with a game at Flint River Academy at 6 pm and 7 pm. The 5th and 6th grade teams finished their seasons on a high note defeating North Henry Academy on Monday night.
This past Wednesday, we hosted a Lunch and Learn with John Pulliam. Mr. Pulliam shared stories as a triathlon athlete and life experiences with a prosthetic leg. The students really enjoyed the discussion and many stated it was the "best lunch and learn" so far.
This upcoming Thursday, February 4th, we will host a rising 9th grade parent and student meeting at 8 am in the Learning Enrichment Center. All of our current 8th grade families are invited as well as any prospective families.
Get-Away-Gig save the date cards were mailed last week. We hope you will make plans to attend this year's Gig on Saturday, March 5th.
