A Word from Dr. Collins

Dear SGES Family,

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  Our families collected 240 cans of cranberry sauce for St. John's Lutheran Church's community-wide luncheon that feeds 5,000 on Thanksgiving Day.

If you ordered poinsettias through the school, pick up is Wednesday, December 2 from noon until 3:00 pm.

As you may recall, the 9th grade class sponsored a community-wide "muddy run" 5k in October.  Today, the class announced a $1,800 donation to the African Children's Mission.

The middle school Beta Club has spent the last two days at the state convention in Macon.  The students attend various workshops and seminars as well as competing in activities.  This year the club finished 4th in the "spotlight your club" event and Chaz Martinez placed 3rd in the spelling bee.

The 7th and 8th grade basketball teams will begin their home season with boys' games on Tuesday, December 1st at 4:00 pm and Thursday, December 3rd at 5:00 pm and the girls' will play on Thursday, December 3rd at 4:00 pm.  We hope you can come out and support these students.  Please remember you may purchase season tickets at FormStack at www.sges.org

The office will be open Monday and Tuesday, but will be closed Wednesday through Friday for Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Larry Collins
