A Word from Dr. Collins

Dear SGES Family,

This past Wednesday our students participated in the GISA region 1-AA one act play competition.  The students performed at the Carrolton Cultural Arts Center and competed against eight other schools in the GISA.  The show was "Creature Feature" that talked about how unique each person is and had a great meaning.  Camryhn Dorsett-Flemister and Sera Elizabeth Davidson were recognized with an honorable mention best performer award.  We are proud of all of these students.

Today, we enjoyed our annual Thanksgiving Feast as a school.  It was a wonderful way to begin the holiday season.

Tomorrow night, the middle school will have a social at the school between 6:00 to 8:30 pm.

Each year, St. John's Lutheran Church cooks and delivers about 5,000 Thanksgiving meals for people in our community.  This year, St. George's Episcopal School will help by donating cans of jellied cranberry sauce. Students may bring cans of jellied cranberry sauce to chapel every morning. The house with the most cans will get extra house points. The collection will end on Friday, November 20.  This project is being sponsored by our Middle School Beta Club.

The junior varsity basketball teams began their season with a pre-season tournament at LaGrange Academy last weekend.  The girls' team finished second behind Heritage School and the boys' placed third.

Have a good weekend,

Larry Collins
