Dear SGES Families,

 

I hope this past week's curriculum nights were beneficial to you as parents.  Please pass along any items that you found helpful or suggestions on ways to improve these events (lcollins@sges.org).  I want to encourage you to take advantage of next week's parent-teacher conferences.  On Wednesday, August 26, we will dismiss pre-kindergarten through 8^th grade at 11:30 am to facilitate this process.  We will have after school care until 6:00 pm. 

 

We have launched our annual magazine, fall flowers, and poinsettias sales.  You may go on-line at www.sges.org Form Stack to order fall flowers and poinsettias and www.gaschoolstore.com and enter St. George's school code 2490027 for magazines.  All orders are due by Wednesday, September 9^th.

 

First day of tutorials will begin Monday, August 24^th until 4:00 pm. 

 

September lunch orders are due through Form Stack at www.sges.org by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25^th.

 

Our parent body is a critical component to the entire success of St. George's.  Today, the Parents' Association selected this year's officers:

 

                  President - Rebecca Benincosa

                  Vice-president - Stephanie Dunlap

                  Secretary - Susan Drake

                  Treasurer - Dana Livingston

 

We are so grateful for these parents to lead this year's efforts through the Parents' Association.

 

Our fall sports program is underway.  Girls' volleyball, cross country, and sporting clays have begun practicing.  This week, the volleyball teams had their first matches of the season and the middle school volleyball team defeated Griffin Christian, and our first ever high school athletic competition was hosted at home with our junior varsity volleyball team.  We are very proud of all of these students and the dedication they have for their sports' teams. 

 

We will host middle school and junior varsity volleyball matches again at home this Tuesday.  We hope you will support the athletic program by purchasing a season ticket pass.  The season pass is good for two adults for both volleyball and basketball season, and is $100.00.  The registration is on Form Stack at www.sges.org.
