Welcome to the latest Excelsys Newsletter which focuses on our Xsolo family of high efficiency, high reliability, 500W convection cooled and 1000W fan cooled power supplies. We highlight the unique features of the Xsolo family and the most recent additions to this product line. 
 
We have extended our XSolo family of 1U high, ultra-compact single output power supplies to include a 36VDC output version. With a wide output voltage adjustment range of 20V-40VDC, this further extends the applications for the Xsolo series to include a wide range of industrial, medical and hi-rel applications including battery charging, motor drives, displays, signage, ATMs, test and measurement.
 
In this newsletter we also discuss the option of PMBus communication on the Xsolo and the advantages this feature offers to system builders.
 
Finally we look at what features are available on the Xsolo which allows it to be the outstanding, high reliability power solution. The most common way of increasing system reliability is to deploy a redundant power solution. All XSolo power supplies are designed to operate in N + 1 redundant mode with no additional components and have I2C digital control for communicating to operators and system hosts.

Xsolo Ultra-Compact 1,000W and 500W Power Supply now available with 36VDC output
We have extended our XSolo family of 1U high, ultra-compact single output power supplies to include a 36VDC output version. This extends the applications for the Xsolo series to include a wide range of industrial, medical and hi-rel applications including battery charging, motor drives, displays, signage, ATMs, test and measurement.

The high efficiency Xsolo power supply is available in 2 package types, delivering a market leading convection cooled 504W in an open-frame U-channel form-factor and up to 1008W in an enclosed fan cooled chassis. Both models carry a 5 year warranty.

The XSolo platform offers system integrators a host of features including; variable fan speed, 12V/300mA isolated bias supply, remote ON/OFF, output voltage control and parallel operation for higher power applications. Nominal output voltages are  24V, 36V and 48V with wide adjustment ranges and user defined set-points. Maximum dimensions are 1U x 238mm x 128mm.

Xsolo Features PMBus Communication
Excelsys Technologies, recognised as a technology leader in high efficiency modular power supply design, offers system builders the option of PMBus communication on our Xsolo family of 1U high, ultra-compact single output power supplies.

The Xsolo may be specified with an I2C digital communications bus over which industry standard PMBus protocols may be used. PMBus is an open architecture method for communicating with power supplies and interfaces with all types of power converters. The open architecture of PMBus ensures that any communication software will work seamlessly with power converters from any manufacturer.

Xsolo - the Core of High Reliability Power Systems
The XSolo family of 1U high, ultra-compact single output modular power supplies offer designers of critical systems an off the shelf high reliability power solution. The most common way of increasing system reliability is to deploy a redundant power solution. This is much more cost effective than the alternative, which is to over-engineer the power supply using high grade components which 
are rated for a higher degree of thermal and electrical stress. All XSolo power supplies are designed to operate in N + 1 redundant mode with no additional components and have I2C digital control for communicating to operators and system hosts. Redundant power systems are found in emergency, medical, security and communications systems, server rooms and data-centres.
