Welcome to the latest Excelsys Newsletter which highlights our most recent exciting activities and product highlights.
In this newsletter we explore the XS500 Convection Cooled Power Supply, taking a closer look at its outstanding efficiency of 92% which makes it ideal for a wide range of acoustic and vibration sensitive applications.
Immunity to input line surges due to AC line disturbances greatly enhances system reliability. We feature an article written by Diarmuid Hogan, R&D Manager at Excelsys Technologies, which explains Surge and Burst design for greater reliability in power supplies and highlights the Xsolo exceptional performance in this area.
Lastly we are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Accredited Employer standard by Engineers Ireland.

500W Convection Cooled Power Supply Offers 92% Efficiency
Excelsys is delighted to announce the XS500 range of high efficiency 500W Convection cooled AC/DC power supplies. With a typical efficiency of 92%, and exceptional efficiency performance over the entire load range the XS500 does not require any forced air cooling.
Operating from 90-264VAC, the XS500 delivers 500W output power without the need for forced air cooling, making it ideal for use in a wide range of acoustic and vibration sensitive applications as well as hi-rel applications where fans are not permitted.
Higher Surge & Burst Design for Greater Reliability
The reliability of a power supply is of critical importance in industrial operations. We can reasonably define the reliability of the power supply as the probability that it will continue to function within a defined period. Reliability can be enhanced by controlling the environment within which it operates, but fundamentally the primary influence over the reliability of any power supply is the design of the unit itself.
Many factors have to be considered if we want to achieve our goal of producing a truly high reliability power supply. Efficiency, component choice and derating, ability to withstand voltage surges and many other factors contribute to the stability, durability and reliability of any unit.
Excelsys is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Accredited Employer standard by Engineers Ireland. Excelsys, a leading power supply manufacturer and designer of high efficiency, low profile power supplies for a variety of markets, recognizes the value of CPD as essential in achieving growth and success.
Commenting on the achievement, John Power, Chartered Engineer and Director General of Engineers Ireland said, "Investment in professional development is essential for engineering organizations to gain a competitive edge and achieve results on both a local and international level. Well done to all those at Excelsys who have dedicated time and resources into securing the CPD Accredited Employer status."
