Amber Resources Join to Support PQIA

The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) is pleased to announce AMBER RESOURCES, a leading lubricant marketer on the West Coast, has joined to support PQIA's efforts to assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the market.

AMBER RESOURCES, comprised of M.O. Dion & Sons and Sawyer Petroleum, has been a leading distributor of fuels and lubricants in California for over 70 years.  Over those years, the company has earned a well-respected reputation in the region and has grown its business with a mission focused on "Meeting the challenges of tomorrow by conducting its business with integrity in all dealings, sensitivity to environmental concerns, and responsiveness to the needs of all its customers, whether large or small." In part, its mission helped drive Amber Resources' decision to support PQIA.

Matt Cullen, president, Amber Resources, says "We are pleased to join with other stake holders in the lubricants business in support of PQIA's effort to assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the market. This is in part because we feel PQIA's mission complement ours in terms of conducting business with integrity in all dealings."

Cullen adds "Although we believe the majority of the lubricants in the market meet minimum specifications, it has become obvious from PQIA's work that not everyone shares our views on product integrity. As a result, there are unfortunately lubricants in the market that have serious deficiencies and can cause harm to equipment. The good news is that PQIA has been very effective in raising awareness about the issue and working to expose and rid the market of harmful - off-spec lubricants. This is certainly an effort Amber Resources supports and wants to see continue."

PQIA President Thomas F. Glenn says "We welcome Amber Resources' support and its commitment to product quality and integrity.  While it is clear we continue to face challenges with poor quality, off-spec engine oils and other lubricants in the market, it is through the commitment of our supporters that we are making progress in protecting consumers and end users by cleaning the market up."   Click for more on PQIA
