More 5W-30s; all look good
|
Although SAE 5W-30 motor oils are losing market share to lighter viscosity grades, they remain the leading grade of passenger car motor oil on the shelves. For this reason, PQIA will once again be looking at 5W-30, along with 0W-, and 5W- 20s.
The results of the tests conducted on the four samples most recently examined by PQIA meet the requirements of an SAE 5W-30, API SN, ILSAC GF-5 motor oil.

|
The Petroleum Quality Institute of America redesigned the format used to present brand specific sample data and assessments. The new look provides a concise (one page), more user friendly presentation of the test data and assessment of the product's compliance to specifications.
Shown at the right is a thumbnail of the PQIA sample page for one of the four 5W-30 brands mentioned above.
Click each of the bottles above to view the reports on the brands tested.
...and let PQIA know if there is more we can do to help make these reports as meaningful and helpful as possible.

Help support PQIA's efforts to assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the market.
|
The Petroleum Quality Institute of America's mission is to serve the consumer of lubricants by testing and reporting on the quality and integrity of lubricants in the marketplace. It is expected that this improved visibility of quality will lead to wider conformance by lubricant manufacturers to specification and performance claims.
We can't do it alone.
