Georgia Takes Action - Issues Stop Sale Order for Several Brands of Motor Oil, ATF, and an Antifreeze  

October 7, 2014

  

The Georgia Department of Agriculture's Fuel & Measures Division has issued a Stop Sale Order for the following products;

 

  • U.S. Economy 10-40 Motor Oil
  • Bullseye Brand Type A Automatic Transmission Fluid
  • Bullseye Brand 10W-30, 10W-40, 5W-30, and 20W-50 Motor Oils
  • Bullseye Brand Antifreeze
  • Super XXX Brand 10W-40 Motor Oil
  • Ever Clear Brand Automatic Transmission Fluid
  • Ever Clear Brand 10-30, 10-40, 20-50, and 5-30 Motor Oils
  • Black Knight Brand Type A Automatic Transmission Fluid
  • Black Knight Brand 10-30, 10-40, 20-50, and 5-30 Motor Oils

These products have been tested at the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Fuel Oil Laboratory and they do not meet industry standards and specifications.

  

A "Stop Sale" order prohibits sale of the products in the state. 

 

It should be noted that Stop Sale Orders have also been issued on some of these motor oil, ATF, and antifreeze brands, and others in MissouriMichigan, North Carolina, and AlabamaPQIA applauds the efforts of these states, and now Georgia in taking action, and the efforts of the Georgia Association of Convenience Stores, and the Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama in getting the word out about the Stop Sale Orders in their states.


At the same time, PQIA cautions consumers that some of these products are still on the shelves in other states.
