L.F. Powers Joins to Support PQIA's Efforts to Help Assure the Quality and Integrity of Motor Oils and Other Lubricants in the Marketplace
|
The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA), is pleased to announce L.F. Powers Co, Inc., headquartered in Waterbury, CT, has joined the ranks of other lubricant blenders, marketers, additive companies, and others supporting PQIA's efforts to assure the quality and integrity of lubricants in the market.
Sheila M. Powers, President of L.F. Powers says, "We have been watching the positive impact PQIA is having on the quality of lubricants in the market for years. As such, we felt it was important to step up to help support PQIA's good work to protect consumers from unscrupulous lubricant suppliers and lubricants that can in fact harm equipment." To this point, Powers adds, some of the lubricants PQIA has issued Consumer Alerts on are shockingly bad and underscore the importance of PQIA's efforts to expose these harmful motor oils to the public."
PQIA President Thomas F. Glenn says it "Welcomes L.F. Powers' support and its commitment to quality demonstrated by its willingness, like all our supporters, to agree to our Supporter Code of Conduct. While it is clear we face serious challenges with poor quality off-spec engine oils and other lubricants in the market, we are encouraged to know that L.F. Powers Co, Inc. and our other supporters are willing to do something about it to protect consumers from poor quality lubricants.
