Allstate general sales manager Davis W. Ellis created the "You're in good hands" slogan in 1950 after a hospital used the reassuring phrase about the doctor treating Ellis' teenage daughter.

August Deal Highlights
An outside buyer in Tennessee was provided with 79% financing to purcahse an Allstate agency selling for 2.82 times Allstate annual commissions. The balance was met by a cash injection for 11% of the purchase price and a seller note for the remaining 10% of the purchase price.
An outside buyer in California was provided with 87% financing to purchase an Allstate agency selling for 2.67 times Allstate annual commissions. The balance was met by a cash injection for 1% of the purchase price and a seller note for 12% of the purchase price.
An outside buyer in California was provided with 88% financing to purchase an Allstate agency selling for 1.19 times Allstate annual commissions. The balance was met by a seller note for 12% of the purchase price.
