Greetings!

The Fundraiser has come and gone and what a night it was.  We were able to raise $943 for the NV Academy of Rock n Roll
thanks to the good graces of 17 Jazz musicians.  We think that is fantastic for a small humble little Ristorante like ours.  Thank you  everyone for contributing.  Friend us on Facebook to see the pics.  We go by Buona Sera (no additional words)

Lots going on at Buona Sera with the upcoming wine dinner, new wines, weekend specials, pizza in the Bar, Spotlight Wednesday 1/2 price appetizers and more.

Come partake whatever suites your fancy.

Pine Ridge Wine Dinner
Here is what Jonathan Wright, Food Editor/Critic
of the Reno Gazette Journal said about
Buona Sera in the  Wednesday,
April 3 edition:

Country Italian

"We wanted to use This Space this week to send a hello southward to our friends Burr and Cindi Otto, owners of the very fine Buona Sera Ristorante & Bar in Minden. Buona Sera, an intimate bijou boîte, is worth a drive to the country. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, has a 5 to 7 p.m. happy hour Wednesday through Monday, and on Friday and Saturday nights, a harpist plays in the dining room beyond the elegant curtains that separate it from the bar.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. April 30, Burr and Cindi are hosting a Pine Ridge wine dinner featuring five courses and pairings. On the food front, the meal created by chef Francesco Gazzana begins with bites of avocado and marinated spicy ahi, moves on to Sicilian baked calamari, and then to veal scaloppine topped by sage and prosciutto and served with Parmesan-spinach gnocchi.

Pasta takes another turn in the next course: housemade ravioli stuffed with braised lamb and splashed with thyme and shallot sauce. The dinner's finish is Neapolitan-style chocolate almond cake paired with port. Cost of $68 includes tax and tip. Call 775-783-3211 for reservations."   See full menu on our website

2 for 1 BFF Monday Nights

2 for 1 5-8 on all Beverages in the BAR

BFF Night Every Monday with the recipient of the Fundraiser and his
NV Academy of Rock n roll
Anthony Janssen, who has worked with Andre' Bocelli.  That is one of the reasons we choose one of the Bocelli family estate wines.  That and the fact that they are Italian.
Spotlight Wednesday
In the Bar

Every Wednesday we feature not only our regular Happy Hour from 5-7 but also 1/2 price Appetizers.  Have as many appetizers as you wish, get 1 per person at 1/2 price.  Think salads, calamari, crab cakes, Belgian Fries, gnocchi, soups, duck with orange sauce.  You won't find any chicken wings here, that's for sure.  New to the line-up is a daily offering of an artisan pizza handcrafted by Chef Francesco just for the Bar crowd.

Happy Hour is everyday Wed. - Mon. from 5-7 with premium specialty cocktails featured for $6 instead of $9.

   Bocelli  Family Wines

To fans of Andrea Bocelli, his last name means that heavenly voice and a gracious, refined sense that his music carries with it. But in their home of Lajtico, in Tuscany, the name "Bocelli" is mostly famous for...tractors. Andrea's family, for decades, has been one of Tuscany's leading dealers of farm implements, and Andrea was expected to follow into that business...had his voice not been enough to make the angels cry.

Andrea and his brother, Alberto, also own a winery and this remarkable Prosecco, too, might very well make the angels a tad weepy.

Made in cooperation with the famed Veneto winery, Trevisiol, Bocelli Proseco is light, graceful, delicate, and insanely flavorful. Its inviting character and creamy texture make it one of the best values.  We enjoyed this Prosecco with our distributor and a basket of Belgian Fries.  the herbs in the fries complimented the Prosecco.

Serve with Green Salads with
or without Fish or Shellfish, White Pizza.

Bocelli Rosso Toscana IGT 2010
Sangiovese

Made from Tuscany's noble varietal, the Bocelli family's passion and expertise are on full display in this exceptionally bright, lush and appealing Sangiovese .  With grapes hand-harvested from some of the best vineyard sites in Morellino, the fruit is deliciously ripe and smoky, with notes of marasca cherry, granite and rhubarb compote.

Darker and a more robust Sangiovese than Chianti-region Sangiovese-based wines.

Pairs with pasta with fresh tomatoes, Osso Buco, Caprese and right on through to chocolate or fruit desserts.

City Cowboy poetry says

"Oh so rich deep floral notes, as if having my nose and lips enveloped by a plum-red rose of mature bloom, while the sun-warmed breeze gently lifts the fragrance of a thousand neighboring petals to encircle the rosebush in a lazy lingering cloud of noble enchantment."

$27 bottle

Tahoe Blue - Pale ale brewed with the finest 2 row pale malt and aggressively hopped with cascade and galena. This brew has light sweetness and has essences of grapefruit and other citrus. This medium bodied beer is 6.2% ABV, 55 IBU's, and is best enjoyed at 50°F-60°F.
