Calling All Hunger-Free Heroes!

Today in Greater Des Moines, we have over 54,000 people facing hunger.

With a crisis of this magnitude, we are calling on everyone in our community to contribute a $15 donation, and join our team of Hunger-Free Heroes. We are aiming for 200 contributions of $15, or a total of $3,000 in online giving.
We encourage you to join us in our fight. Donate $15 to our #GivingTuesday campaign today and become a Hunger-Free Hero for some of our community's most vulnerable people. Here are a few stories that express the struggles of those we serve*.

Even if you can't give today, please share this message with a friend.
Bob and Susan

At one point in their lives, Bob and Susan were donating food during their congregation's monthly food drive. Now, they are seeking assistance.

After losing his job and subsequently his health insurance, Bob and Susan are struggling with medical bills, and don't always have enough money to pay for food.
Monica, Riley and Aidan

Monica is a single mother of two, Riley and Aidan. She also has two jobs, but with both of the children needing child care, Monica feels like she just can't get ahead.

She is able to get healthy food for her growing children from a DMARC partner pantry, and the extra food is just enough to get by at the end of the month.
Chase

A veteran of the War in Iraq, Chase suffers from PTSD and still struggles finding and holding employment.

He's not always sure where his next meal will be coming from, and relies on the food pantry for daily items such as bread and donated fresh produce.
