Help Us Package Another Pasta Donation!

We recently received another donation of bulk pasta, this one even larger than the first!

We are currently looking for volunteer groups of 3-10 individuals to assist in individually packaging this bulk pasta.

Consider getting together some members of your congregation, workplace or school, and pitch in to help feed neighbors in need in Greater Des Moines. This pasta will be sent throughout DMARC's Network of 12 partner pantries.

You can schedule a volunteer group by contacting Daniel Beck, dbeck@dmarcunited.org or 515-282-2026.
The Donation of the Month for July is beans! The DMARC Food Pantry Network distributes both canned beans and dried beans. Beans are high in protein, and contain other essential vitamins and minerals, such as Iron, Magnesium and Vitamin C.

Canned beans are included in our monthly food boxes, provided they meet our healthy food guidelines. Pork and beans are high in sugar, fat and salt, and do not meet our guidelines for monthly food boxes. Any food donations we receive that do not meet these guidelines are still distributed throughout the Network as supplemental food items.

Dried beans, along with rice, Meals from the Heartland / Outreach, Inc. meal packages, donated produce and donated bread products, are available daily at food pantries for those seeking assistance.
