Honoring Our Veterans through Service
|
|
Today, we pause as a community and nation to honor the service of military Veterans, and the countless sacrifices they have made to ensure the freedoms we enjoy in the United States of America.
Yet, as Veterans return to their families and civilian life, many face the hardship of unemployment or underemployment.
In just the past year, nearly 1,500 Veteran households have received food assistance through the DMARC Food Pantry Network. As with other pantry participants, Veterans are turning to DMARC for short-term help to put food on the table for their families.
With your support, DMARC continues to provide safety nets of food, housing stability assistance and child care subsidies for Veterans and countless others. Thank you for your generosity and commitment!

The DMARC Food Pantry Network consists of 12 separate pantry sites, a centralized warehouse, and numerous community partners. It is the largest food pantry network in Iowa. Pantry sites are located in West Des Moines, Ankeny, Johnston, Urbandale, and eight sites in Des Moines.
