News of YOUR Club
Will you join us for President Donna's
last meeting?

We hope you will join us for President
Donn
a's last meeting as Club President, Tuesday, June 27th at the Floreano Riverside Convention Center.

As is tradition, Past President Peter Sarratori will run our speaker/program portion of the luncheon where
we will celebrate Donna's year.
TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS
Dear Friends,

Thank you for the wonderful attendance-and the terrific responses to our State of Rochester Rotary Presentation on Tuesday! We had 100+ members in attendance-who were also treated to the celebration of the successes of our Rotary Scholars. They are why we do the work we do!

Many thanks to Rochester Rotary Charitable Trusts President Peter Noto, and Rotary Executive Director Tracey Dreisbach, who did a great job of summarizing our year, and mapping out our strategy for the future. It is safe to say, the state of Rochester Rotary is very strong!

For Rotarians who weren't aware of our governance structure, we explained that we have two distinct organizations with separate boards-the Rochester Rotary Club, a membership organization, and the Rochester Rotary Charitable Trusts-a non-profit organization which holds all the assets of Rochester Rotary. So, the club is where the working volunteers are, and the charitable trusts provides the funding.

If you review the Power Point Slides we used for the presentation, you'll see a breakdown of the finances of the club and charitable trusts, including the Sunshine Campus. We addressed the management of our quasi-endowment, and how those critical funds are utilized for operations and investment in the future. I think you'll agree that we are a lean and efficient organization which is operationally very well-managed.

There is an eye toward the future too. We outlined the plan to broaden out fund development efforts in a very strategic way, so we can ensure our mission continues in perpetuity. We are so unique in the Rotary world, in that we operate a non-profit organization. But, it takes resources, and with the new plans for fund development, and rejuvenation of the Sunshine Society which focuses on planned giving, we will be well on our way toward long-time success.

Please take a moment to review the slides that can be found by logging on to the Rotary website-under the Member Access tab, and should you have any questions, feel free to contact me, Pete, or Tracey-we are more than happy to discuss the presentation.

Thank you for dedication to Rochester Rotary!

Yours in Rotary Service,

President Donna

Congrats to THREE of our Scholars

B2B Connections Tour at SunCommon

The B2B Committee is pleased to announce that SunCommon of New York will host the Rochester Rotary on Tuesday, July 11th from
4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

SunCommon makes solar accessible for homeowners, renters and businesses alike. With no upfront cost, affordable solar thrives in New York State- SunCommon is dedicated to finding the best solar solution for households or businesses.

New York is now one of the handful of states that allow multiple electricity customers to benefit from a single solar array. The fancy term is Group Net Metering; SunCommon calls them Community Solar Arrays or CSAs. SunCommon makes use of this state program to build large, shared Community Solar Arrays. Homeowners and renters aren't connected to the array with wires, but through their electric utility's account function which divvies up the array's output. Come see the first operating Community Solar Arrays in RGE territory at SunCommon's office located at 318 Timothy Lane, Ontario, NY.

SunCommon believes that everyone has the right to a healthy environment and a brighter future- and renewable energy is where is starts. Energy from the sun can power our lives and built vibrant communities. Our mission is to tear down barriers to renewable energy and use our business as a force of good.

The Friendship Committee needs your help
Do you know of any Rotarians who may be ill?

One of the functions of the Friendship Committee is to reach out to Rotarians who are confined to their home, the hospital, a rehab unit or nursing home due to a sustained illness. We have found that they really appreciate hearing from fellow Rotarians, whether with a card, a call or a visit. But we need your help. We can only make contact with those Rotarians who have been brought to our attention. So, if you hear about someone who should be contacted, please don't assume we know. You could be the only one who knows.

Please contact Myrna at 546-7435 x201 or myrna@rochesterrotary.org to convey the information.

Thank You
