State of Rochester Rotary
Dear Fellow Rotarians:
 
I am so pleased that, at our Rochester Rotary meeting on Tuesday, June 20th, Peter Noto, President of the Rochester Rotary Charitable Trust, Club Executive Director Tracey Dreisbach and I will deliver a State of Rochester Rotary address. Many of you have asked for such a presentation, and we're happy to oblige, because it is so important that Rochester Rotarians have an opportunity to understand the nuts and bolts of how the Club and Charitable Trusts Boards are structured, how the money flows from an operating perspective, and that you all have a snapshot of our finances. We also believe it's important to discuss our strategic focus for the Club. To have all of our members up-to-speed on the overall vision for Rochester Rotary is optimum. When you take a look at all the moving parts, we really do incredible work in our community as we strive to live out our motto of Service Above Self.
 
Following the meeting, the presentation materials will be available to all members for you to optimize transparency and access to the information. Also, at this meeting, beginning at 11:30, we invite you to take a moment or two to engage with the many Rotary committee chairs as they man table space at the JAFRCC prior to our meeting. This is their chance to showcase the great work they're doing, as well as for you to choose a committee with which to engage if you haven't known how to do that to this point.
 
Thank you, in advance for attending on Tuesday, June 20th!  I look forward to seeing you then. As I reflect on my year which is, incredibly, almost complete, I can only say what a privilege this year as president has been for me.

Rochester Rotary hosted its annual
Career Day at School No. 8
Rochester Rotary hosted its annual Career Day for students at Roberto Clemente School No. 8 on Friday, June 9th. During the event, students had the chance to talk one-on-one with Rotarians from a variety of careers.

Participating companies and organizations in the year's Career Day included Anthony L. Jordan Health Center, Boy Scouts of America, BSN Sports, Canandaigua National Bank, Clarity Recruiting & Career Management, Genesee Commercial Real Estate/CORFAC International, Heritage Christian Services, Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, Kittelberger Florist, Living Color, MDesign Vehicles, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Rochester Police Department, Rochester School for the Deaf, SWBR Architects, Toshiba Business Solutions, Wegmans, Weinstein & Randisi, and Wells Fargo.


Launch a Ball w/the Red Wings
& get a free game ticket 
We are excited to have been chosen again
this year as the charity that will benefit from the Red Wings "Launch a Ball" promotion.
The proceeds from this promotion will go to the Sunshine Campus.

All you have to do is sell tennis  balls before the game, as a volunteer, you'll get to enjoy the game for free. Plus, there will be fireworks after each game!  

We are still in need of volunteers for the following dates:

July 22nd
August 26th
September 2nd

The Sunshine Camp is looking for a Nurse! 
We have a great opportunity for a Nurse this summer, the dates would be July 16th-21st and July 23rd-28th.

B2B Connections Tour at the
Newly Renovated Geva Theatre Center

Join us Tuesday, August 8th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. where Rotarians will get the opportunity to enjoy appetizers and cocktails then tour the newly renovated lobby, kitchen, lounges, as well as some backstage production areas that were all part of the recently completed Front and Center Capital Campaign. This $10M facelift was all part of making Geva a place where their patrons could feel more at home, and allow the opportunity to be open and available to the community. If you haven't been to Geva lately....you haven't been to Geva. The tour will offer Rotarians access to areas that are for community use, as well as a chance to see some of the behind-the-scenes shops where they make their magic.

Appetizers include: meatballs, three cheese arancini, bruschetta, Italian stuffed mushrooms and fire roasted corn and black bean fritters as well as a cash bar.

Your donation to the Rotary International Foundation will assist in Rotary Projects around the world. By pledging a $100 you become a Tootsie Roll member and will have the option of recognizing a person that you view lives by Rotary's motto "Service Above Self".

To make a donation look for the donation envelopes at the Tuesday luncheons or contact Pam in the Rotary Office at 546-7435 x205 or accounting@rochesterrotary.org. Rochester Rotary will forward your donation to Rotary International. If you have any questions or would like additional information please contact Hank Ralston at 697-0880.
