Unmanned Aerial Imaging Systems for Precision Agriculture and Property Inspection

Join us Tuesday, November 15th at Midvale
Country Club where our guest speaker will be Dr. David W. Messinger, Professor, Xerox Chair in Imaging Science and Director of the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Dr. Messinger is also an Associate Editor of the journal Optical Engineering and a Senior Member of SPIE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's) are dramatically expanding in their capabilities, providing a corresponding expansion in the possible applications of these vehicles, particularly those equipped with advanced imaging systems. The RIT Center for Imaging Science is leading a research effort to develop systems and workflows that will utilize UAV's to produce actionable information, primarily in the fields of property inspection and precision agriculture. We are working with both local and national partners to define commercial problems where UAV's can be put to use and then design systems to help solve those problems.
TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS
Thank you to Don Alhart for moderating a discussion about "The Impact of Social Media on the 2016 Election". Thank you to panelists Jon Alhart, VP Social and Digital Media, Dixon Schwabl Advertising, Kyle Psaty, Sr. Director of Marketing, Brand Networks, Andrew Knoblauch, Social and Digital Media Supervisor, Dixon Schwabl Advertising.

Our Tootsie Roll Bright Spot for the Rotary meeting on Election Day-was Susan B. Anthony. During our meeting, hundreds were lining up at Mt. Hope Cemetery to visit the grave site of the famous Rochestarian  who fought for a woman's right to vote.

The $100 contribution to the Rotary Foundation to make this possible came from Rotarian Nelson Blish, who immediately responded to the request from the rostrum. Thanks Nelson!
