News of YOUR Club
"Presidential Politics, Public Policy and the Impact on the Economy"

Join us Tuesday, September 13th at the Floreano Riverside Convention Center where our guest speaker will be Dr. Kent Gardner, Principal & Chief Economist at CGR. Dr. Gardner's public policy expertise ranges from public finance and public administration to health care and education reform. With 25 years of experience, he supports CGR's public service mission across the spectrum of clients.

The presidential race is unlike any in living memory as the electorate debates the choice of two deeply unpopular candidates, both pushed by circumstance to champion policies and perspectives outside the mainstream. Dr. Gardner will discuss the state of the economy-global, national, local-and explore how the presidential election is likely to influence key economic policies.

Hurd Orchards Thanksgiving Tasting

We hope you will join us Friday, November 4th at Hurd Orchards for a Thanksgiving Tasting event you will never forget.

As the lanterns and candles are lighted and the pot bellied stove in our market glows with warmth our holiday tables are made festive with bouquets and still life and are richly laden with our delicious foods. Our cathedral-like barn, beams warmed with the patina of age, glows with seasonal color. Filled with character and twinkle and feeling, our Tastings are a moment to share the depth of what our farm means. Our tastings have been featured in many articles over the years, most notably in Victoria Magazine in November of 1994 and Better Homes and Garden magazine in November 2004.

The cost is $70 per person and reservations are needed by September 30th. Space is limited so sign up today and don't miss this delicious event with your fellow Rotarians!

The Friendship Committee needs your help?

Do you know of any Rotarians who may be ill!

One of the functions of the Friendship Committee is to contact Rotarians who are confined to their home, the hospital, a rehab unit or nursing home due to a sustained illness. We have found that they really appreciate a visit. But we need your help. We can only make contact with those Rotarians who have been brought to our attention. So, if you hear about someone who should be seen, please don't assume we know.

Please contact Myrna at 546-7435 x201 or myrna@rochesterrotary.org to convey the information.

Thank You
