News of YOUR Club
Happy Fourth of July!

In observance of the Fourth of July the Rotary Office will be closed Monday, July 4th and there will be no Tuesday luncheon on July 5th.

Final Message from President Pete

Honored, humbled, thankful, fulfilled, excited and grateful are just a few words that come to mind that sum up what I want to say to all of you. I wish you all could be the President for one year. Never have I enjoyed doing something so much. Just the thought when asked to consider the Presidency intimidated me beyond words. Me? Are they crazy? Do they know my mouth? Turned out to be the best YES I ever said. Thanks to all of you for your support, kind words, and encouragement.

My message to you is something I realize more now than ever. Rotary is a powerful tool. Our club is unique and our staff is second to none. Our membership can accomplish whatever we set out to do. The secret? Not really a secret! Engage, get involved, find your place and think out of the box. I promise you will meet people and make friends. You can make a difference but only if you figure out how to be a part of the team. With 20 plus committees and a leadership that's always working on making something better sitting on the sidelines is a choice. It's not much fun watching a game being played from the bench. Put yourself in the game. It will pay you back tenfold.

We are blessed because we always have School #8 and the Sunshine Campus to get familiar with and become a part of. Maybe you have an idea of how we can make a difference in our own city with the poverty initiative. Say something. Do things that take you outside your comfort zone. That's where the most rewarding things are for me. Dream it, think it thru, say something, organize, engage and watch the magic happen. God Bless the Rotarian who said we need a Polio Camp. Bet he never thought someday we would accommodate over 2,500 special needs campers in one season!

My wish for President Donna is she experiences the same highs as I just did. You have all made it a pleasure representing you in Rochester Rotary. You made a difference in my life. I hope I made a difference in yours.

Sincerely and respectfully,

Past President Pete Sarratori

TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS

Tuesday we were proud to honor President Pete at his final meeting as Club President. Pete has been a dedicated, hard working and passionate President to our Club.

Pete was presented with numerous gifts including a framed heart made up of words describing him sent in by his Boards and Committee Chairs, also he was presented with a book of thank you notes and photos from throughout his year.

Congratulations President Pete!

Congratulations to Lynn Sarratori
During our luncheon a surprise Paul Harris Fellow was to presented to Lynn Sarratori from President Pete to recognize her support throughout the year. Below is a poem written by Don Alhart:

A Paul Harris Fellow
Presented today
To one who kept pace
Every step of the way

As wife to a husband
With a dream to succeed
She stood at his side
So this club he could lead

He dreamed a Treehouse
And with a voice never loud
Her smile said it all
Of him she was proud

For his Thoughts of the Week
She gave him a voice
Offering several at times
To give him a choice

She was there- when he needed her
Day after day
With love and support
Every step of the way

Now- HIS turn to say Thanks
And con-GRAD- u-lation
With a show of support
For the Rotary Foundation

A Gift to the World
She surely has been
That's why THIS Paul Harris Fellow's
Especially for Lynn

Intervals of Clouds and Sunshine
What more can we say
For the wife by his side
Every step of the way
