Finger Lakes Forward Upstate Revitalization Presentation with Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul

Join us Thursday, June 23rd at the Floreano Riverside Convention Center where our guest speaker will be Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul. She will discuss "Finger Lakes Forward Upstate Revitalization".

The Upstate Revitalization Initiative, which Governor Andrew M. Cuomo presented to the Rochester Rotary in March of 2015, was a competition designed to help transform local economies by providing $500 million each over the next five years to three winning regions, including the Finger Lakes, to support projects and strategies that create jobs, strengthen and diversify economies, and generate economic opportunity within the region.

Come hear from Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul about how the Finger Lakes Forward Plan is transforming the Finger Lakes Region.

The luncheon is open to Rochester Rotarians and their guests, reservations are needed.

TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS

Thank you to our speaker Bill Bond, Director Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer at RIT. Bill discussed "Technology Commercialization via Tech Transfer".

During the luncheon we honored this year's Service Fellows, those that go above and beyond in helping us to serve our Club and the community. Thank you for all that each of you do as Rotarians!

Service Fellow Recipients

Our Club is one of largest Rotary Clubs in the world. We do so much to serve our community, because the club is filled with people who are community minded and work hard to serve others.

-          serving on committees raising money, making this a fun club
-          bringing week-long overnight camping experiences to     thousands of kids each summer
-          tutoring kids at School #8
-          mentoring our scholarship kids
-          volunteering on a dozen local and international community service projects each year

We get things done through your voluntary contributions of your time and your amazing talents. As we get older, we realize just how precious time is. We couldn't do all that we do without you, and your contributions are so greatly appreciated.

For decades, Rotary International has awarded the Paul Harris Fellow to recognize those who give money to the Rotary Foundation.  Three years ago, our Club started giving out the Service Fellows award to show our appreciation by recognizing those who go above and beyond in service above self, and make extraordinary contributions of their time and talents.

A committee was formed with Immediate Past President Tracy Armstrong, current President Pete Sarratori, and President Elects Donna Dedee and Mark Armbruster, along with Executive Director Tracey Dreisbach and Past President Bob Attardo as committee chair. A call for nominations went out to the leadership of our club - the Board of Directors and all committee chairs. The committee reviewed all of the nominations and recommended the following recipients.

Don Alhart
Mark Armbruster

The Friendship Committee needs your help!
Do you know of any Rotarians who may be ill!

One of the functions of the Friendship Committee is to visit Rotarians who are confined to their home, the hospital, a rehab unit or nursing home due to a sustained illness. We have found that they really appreciate a visit. But we need your help. We can only make contact with those Rotarians who have been brought to our attention. So, if you hear about someone who should be seen, please don't assume we know.

Please contact Myrna at 546-7435 x201 to convey the information.

Thank You
