Technology Transfer: How the U of R  and R.I.T. address and seek to monetize
intellectual property
Join us Tuesday, June 14th at the Floreano Riverside Convention Center where our guest speakers will be Bill Bond, Director of Intellectual Property & Technology at R.I.T. and Scott J. Catlin, Associate VP for Technology Ventures at the U of R.

Mr. Bond came to RIT from San Diego-based Science Applications International Corp., a major supplier of systems integration and research services to the U.S. Government and telecommunications markets. A vice president of technology licensing, he led efforts to license and sell a broad base of technologies to existing and startup organizations. He has also served as the company's director of business development and licensing.

Prior to joining the University, he was the General Counsel for Abbott Medical Optics - a subsidiary of Abbott Laboratories - providing legal and executive management guidance for sales, marketing, regulatory, research & development, M&A, intellectual property, litigation, and compliance matters. He has worked in and with start-up companies in Northern and Southern California, and is a former management consultant with Bain & Company. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard as an officer and Judge Advocate (JAG).

Please note the Program will begin at 12:20 p.m.

Launch a ball w/the Red Wings
& get a free game ticket

We are excited to have been chosen
again this year as the charity that will benefit from the Red Wings "Launch a Ball" promotion. Folks who go to a Saturday game can buy a tennis ball before the game and throw them on the field after the game to try to win a prize.

The proceeds from this promotion will go to the Sunshine Campus. In addition to being talked about during the games, the camp will be featured in radio ads on Warm 101.3, 94.1 The Zone and 93.3 Fickle.

To make this successful, we need your help.

We need eight volunteers for each Saturday night game this year, May 28th to August 13th. All you have to do is sell tennis  balls before the game, as a volunteer, you'll get to enjoy the game for free.

Plus, there will be fireworks after each game!

The following are dates that volunteers are needed:

June 25th
July 16th & 30th
August 13th

To sign up, contact Brandi at the Rotary Office at 546-7435 x210 or brandi@rochesterrotary.org.

The Friendship Committee needs your help!
Do you know of any Rotarians who may be ill!

One of the functions of the Friendship Committee is to visit Rotarians who are confined to their home, the hospital, a rehab unit or nursing home due to a sustained illness. We have found that they really appreciate a visit. But we need your help. We can only make contact with those Rotarians who have been brought to our attention. So, if you hear about someone who should be seen, please don't assume we know.

Please contact Myrna at 546-7435 x201 to convey the information.

Thank You
