Building Pathways to Prosperity at
Monroe Community College

Join us Tuesday, February 2nd at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center where our guest speaker will be Dr. Anne M. Kress, President of Monroe Community College.

Since 2009, Dr. Kress has served as president of Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York. Her career spans more than 20 years in higher education with special interests in topics relating to student access and success, global education, workforce development, technology, and the intersection between traditional liberal education and essential 21st century learning outcomes.

Dr. Kress will discuss how our community comes together through both the Upstate Revitalization Initiative and the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative, MCC is at the center of these important and transformative endeavors. The College has created new programs and expanded existing ones focused on improving success and building opportunity for students--all with a goal of building pathways to prosperity.

TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS

This week's Tuesday luncheon welcomed guest speaker Heidi Zimmer-Meyer, President of Rochester Downtown Development Corp. Heidi gave a enlightening and informative presentation on the numerous building projects going on in downtown Rochester - "DOWNTOWN ROARING: The Rise of Center City"

We also welcomed two of our newest members Robert Baxter and John Bulbulia.

Bright Spot
Past President Peter Kelderhouse
Past President Peter Kelderhouse was honored as our Tootsie Roll Bright Spot this past Tuesday. Past President Don Alhart selected him because of the suggestion he made in a recent opening prayer to reach out and  Call a Rotarian! Peter suggested we think about Rotarians who could not be with us on a Tuesday- and simply give them a call. Those who did so- brightened the day for those they called- and brightened their own days as well. Thanks Pete!
