RPO Holiday Gala Pops Concert

The Rochester Rotary - RPO Holiday Gala Pops
Concert remains one of the Rochester Community's premier holiday events. The success of this event is critical to providing continued funding for our Rochester Rotary Sunshine Campus - which helps to ensure thousands of young people with disabilities experience the many joys of summer camping through Rotary's Sunshine Campus programs.

As part of your Rotary membership obligation, we are asking you to support this critical fund-raising effort.

You can support this event the following ways:

1) Purchase or sell eight (8) tickets at $50.00 each. While you will be paying for your tickets through the invoice provided, you must secure your tickets as follows:
  • Pick up your tickets at the Eastman Theatre Box Office
  • Call the Eastman Theatre Box Office at 585-454-2100 and they will mail tickets directly to you.
Note: no matter which method you chose to secure your tickets, you will need your 3-digit member number to secure your tickets.

2) If you are unable to attend this event, make a suggested holiday donation of $300 to the Rochester Rotary Charitable Trusts, Inc.

Let's make this our most successful year ever. Thanks for your support!

Make the evening even more special. Join Us for a Pre-Gala Reception, Dinner and Dessert Event at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Just $55 per person in addition to your ticket purchase.

* Valet parking
* Cocktail reception
* Four-course meal
* Shuttle to Eastman Theatre and return trip

The District 7120 Vocal Contest is January 10, 2016. This program will allow three of our high school juniors or seniors to win a scholarship and/or scholarship money.

It is our hope that every club will use this as an opportunity to interface with their local high school, music department and vocal teachers.

The local club's responsibilities include:
        Select a candidate or candidates
        Send in the application and fee of $75 for each candidate.

Should your candidate win first prize, the district will finance his/her trip to the district conference where he/she will perform at one of the major events.

I have enclosed a copy of both the guidelines and application
Please participate by contacting your local high school's music/vocal department in early October and November.

The District will grant the following cash scholarships:
First place $1,000, Second Place $500, Third Place  $300

Rotary Polio Immunization Trip to India

Howard Tours is announcing their trip to India to participate in the February, 2016 Polio National Immunization Days (NID). Below is specific information about the trip, including a means of registering for the program. The material can also be accessed at: www.HowardTours.net.

Since January 2011, there has been only ONE new confirmed case of polio in India. In 2012, India was removed from the list of polio endemic countries. We are getting remarkably close to eradicating polio globally. Therefore, this might be one of the last opportunities we will have to organize a trip to India to participate in polio NID activities. This trip offers Rotarians an extraordinary opportunity to have an experience of a life time.
