TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS
On Tuesday we welcomed our new School #8 principal Laurel Avery-DeToy to the luncheon. She passed along a message of sincere thanks from the School and was blown away by the generous support of our supply drive hosted at the luncheon.

BRIGHT SPOT - Tuesday's Bright Spot was nominated by Rotarian Dave Brown. Dave nominated our guest speaker Fran Weisberg. Fran was honored for her long standing dedication to the Rochester community and her volunteer service. Congratulations Fran!

Lastly, Fran gave a fantastic presentation about the " United Way of Greater Rochester : 100 years of uniting Rochester". She highlighted the great accomplishments of the UW over the past nearly 100 years and talked about the new direction many of their initiatives are taking to continue helping our ever changing community.

Calling All Bell Ringers!
We are excited to continue our tradition this year of assisting in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. The Rochester Rotary Club has agreed to provide bell ringers for outdoor kettle entrances at Eastview Mall on Thursday, December 10th from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

Our volunteers will serve a 2-hour shift at a kettle.

 Shifts:
#1 -  4:45-6:45 p.m.
#2 - 6:45-8:45 p.m.

We would like to form teams of four to six per kettle per shift to allow for inside mall "warming breaks" as needed. Family members and friends are welcome to join us. This is a wonderful way to share in the spirit of the holiday season with your fellow Rotarians, family and friends!

Please email or call Brandi Koch at brandi@rochesterrotary.org or 546-7435 x210 to sign up for a shift by Thursday, December 3rd so that we can appropriately organize our teams.

We promise to do our best to fulfill your preferred shift request.
Rochester Rotary
RPO Holiday Gala Pops Concert

The Rochester Rotary - RPO Holiday Gala Pops
Concert remains one of the Rochester Community's premier holiday events. The success of this event is critical to providing continued funding for our Rochester Rotary Sunshine Campus - which helps to ensure thousands of young people with disabilities experience the many joys of summer camping through Rotary's Sunshine Campus programs.

As part of your Rotary membership obligation, we are asking you to support this critical fund-raising effort.

You can support this event in one of three ways:

1) Purchase or sell eight (8) tickets at $50.00 each. While you will be paying for your tickets through the invoice provided, you must secure your tickets as follows:
  • Pick up your tickets at the Eastman Theatre Box Office
  • Call the Eastman Theatre Box Office at 585-454-2100 and they will mail tickets directly to you.
Note: no matter which method you chose to secure your tickets, you will need your 3-digit member number to secure your tickets.

2) Purchase a Patron Package with preferred seating and program recognition at $300 (includes 2 tickets). Contact Heather at 546-7435 x204, tickets will be sent directly from the Rotary Office.

3) If you are unable to attend this event, make a suggested holiday donation of $300 to the Rochester Rotary Charitable Trusts, Inc.

Let's make this our most successful year ever. Thanks for your support!

Make the evening even more special. Join Us for a Pre-Gala Reception, Dinner and Dessert Event at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Just $55 per person in addition to your ticket purchase.

* Valet parking
* Cocktail reception
* Four-course meal
* Shuttle to Eastman Theatre and return trip

For more information, contact the Rochester Rotary Office at 585-546-7435 x204 or visit www.rochesterrotary.org.

The Friendship Committee needs your help!
Do you know of any Rotarians who may be ill!

One of the functions of the Friendship Committee is to visit Rotarians who are confined to their home, the hospital, a rehab unit or nursing home due to a sustained illness. We have found that they really appreciate a visit. But we need your help. We can only make contact with those Rotarians who have been brought to our attention. So, if you hear about someone who should be seen, please don't assume we know.

Please contact Myrna at 546-7435 x201 to convey the information.

Thank You

Rotary Polio Immunization Trip to India

Howard Tours is announcing their trip to India to participate in the February, 2016 Polio National Immunization Days (NID). Below is specific information about the trip, including a means of registering for the program. The material can also be accessed at: www.HowardTours.net.

Since January 2011, there has been only ONE new confirmed case of polio in India. In 2012, India was removed from the list of polio endemic countries. We are getting remarkably close to eradicating polio globally. Therefore, this might be one of the last opportunities we will have to organize a trip to India to participate in polio NID activities. This trip offers Rotarians an extraordinary opportunity to have an experience of a life time.
