TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS

What a beautiful luncheon Tuesday to honor our Veterans. Thank you to Past President John White (USMC) and Past President Barry Culhane (US Army) for coordinating Tuesday's luncheon and bringing our guest speaker Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Gary Beikirch to our program.

Most importantly thank you to all the men and women of the armed services that have risked and continue to risk their lives for our country.

One percent of Americans are Veterans and in our club 18% of our members are Veterans. Pictured above are members who  were able to attend Tuesday's Veterans Day Luncheon.

Congratulations to our newest Paul Harris Fellow - Gary Beikirch. Gary was honored with a surprise Paul Harris Fellow at our Tuesday luncheon from Past President Barry Culhane and Past President John White. Barry and John worked with fellow Rochester Rotarians to collect enough contributions prior to our luncheon to present Gary with a PHF.

How appropriate that on the occasion of our Veterans Day Program we honor Barry with the Tootsie Roll Bright Spot.

Sgt.Barry Culhane served as a medic in the Army during the Vietnam War and has been giving aid and lending a healing hand to veterans in the Rochester Community ever since.

He is responsible for the outstanding Vietnam Memorial in Highland Park, is currently the driving force behind the construction of the Gold Star Families Memorial at White Haven, is a founding member of One Team, One Fight, Serves on the Finger Lakes Development Council for Veterans Affairs, and annually plans and produces a Veterans Day Breakfast and Military Tribute at RIT that is attended by over 650 Veterans and their families.

Barry has been a Rochester Rotarian since 1993, and lives the ethos of Service Above Self - EVERY DAY!

Thank You!

Thank you to Dan Cavagnaro owner of Golden B

Our volunteers will serve a 2-hour shift at a kettle.

 Shifts:
#1 -  4:45-6:45 p.m.
#2 - 6:45-8:45 p.m.

We would like to form teams of four to six per kettle per shift to allow for inside mall "warming breaks" as needed. Family members and friends are welcome to join us. This is a wonderful way to share in the spirit of the holiday season with your fellow Rotarians, family and friends!

Please email or call Brandi Koch at brandi@rochesterrotary.org or 546-7435 x210 to sign up for a shift by Thursday, December 3rd so that we can appropriately organize our teams.

Let's make this our most successful year ever. Thanks for your support!

Rotary Polio Immunization Trip to India

Howard Tours is announcing their trip to India to participate in the February, 2016 Polio National Immunization Days (NID). Below is specific information about the trip, including a means of registering for the program. The material can also be accessed at: www.HowardTours.net.

Since January 2011, there has been only ONE new confirmed case of polio in India. In 2012, India was removed from the list of polio endemic countries. We are getting remarkably close to eradicating polio globally. Therefore, this might be one of the last opportunities we will have to organize a trip to India to participate in polio NID activities. This trip offers Rotarians an extraordinary opportunity to have an experience of a life time.
