Bright Spot
Reverend Susan Shafer

At our meeting on October 27th, Past-President Don A
lhart named the Reverend Susan Shafer as the  Tootsie Roll Bright Spot of the Week!  Don recognized Susan for her service to the community during her years as Senior Pastor of the Asbury First Methodist Church, especially her personal attention to our past-president Joe Floreano during his time in hospice. We wish Susan all the best in retirement and look forward to her continued involvement as a member of Rochester Rotary.

Bright Spot
Carl Krause

Our Bright Spot for Tuesday, November 3, was Carl
Krause, who was honored for his work as Club Historian on the Board.  In addition to his Tootsie Roll bank, Carl was also presented with some historic items, which past-president Don Alhart received from the family of Rotarian Sam Rockowitz.  Sam was a printer, and took care of all the club's needs, including the weekly SPOKE.  When Sam died, the family gave Don the original printing plates- used to produce our weekly newsletter.  Don has now passed these along to Carl for safekeeping - as a part of the history of Club 36!

Calling All Bell Ringers!
We are excited to continue our tradition this year of assisting in the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. The Rochester Rotary Club has agreed to provide bell ringers for outdoor kettle entrances at Eastview Mall on Thursday, December 10th from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

Our volunteers will serve a 2-hour shift at a kettle.

 Shifts:
#1 -  4:45-6:45 p.m.
#2 - 6:45-8:45 p.m.

We would like to form teams of four to six per kettle per shift to allow for inside mall "warming breaks" as needed. Family members and friends are welcome to join us. This is a wonderful way to share in the spirit of the holiday season with your fellow Rotarians, family and friends!

Please email or call Brandi Koch at [email protected] or 546-7435 x210 to sign up for a shift by Thursday, December 3rd so that we can appropriately organize our teams.

We promise to do our best to fulfill your preferred shift request.
