News of YOUR Club
Recreating Rochester

Join us Tuesday, October 6th at the Joseph A.
Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center where our guest speaker will be Mayor Lovely Warren.

Mayor Lovely Warren will discuss recent wins for Rochester and how the business community plays an important role as the City continues its efforts to increase access to jobs, safe neighborhoods and a quality education.

TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS

Thank you to this week's guest speaker Coach Jim Johnson for a terrific presentation titled "Dreams Really Do Come True". Jim talked about his experience as J-Mac's coach and what that game taught him as a coach and as a person, he also discussed his top rules for success and motivation. Thank you to President Pete for bringing Jim in as our speaker.

Fellowship Committee Update
Thank you Co Chairs Lee Kirk ("Jester Lee") and Keith Elder ("Jester Elder") for your fun filled presentation on the Fellowship Committee. The committee has put together one of the strongest lists of activities I have ever seen. I would encourage anyone who is considering a committee choice to attend one of Lee and Keith's meetings. They are always fun with lots of open creative discussions deciding what the next fantastic event will be to bring our Rotarian's together. I thank everyone on the Fellowship Committee for their continuing commitment to promoting fun, fellowship, and friendship.

President Pete

If you are planning to attend the Eastern Cities Fellowship Dinner and can help meet and greet our guests, we need your assistance as a greeter? It's an easy, fun job welcoming those who arrive and in some cases, depending where you are stationed, providing directions into the Convention Center, Reception and Dinner. It's a short job too--most likely lasting from 3:30 until 5:30 pm!

We already have half of the fifteen needed to welcome all attendees into the Convention Center. If you are able to assist, please inform Jeff Bartkoski at jbartkoski@mercyflightcentral.org by Sep 28.

Rotary Friendship Exchange
The Rotary Friendship Exchange is an international exchange program giving Rotarians and spouses the opportunity to host and visit Rotarians around the world. Lisa Norwood is currently participating in a Rotary Friendship Exchange with District 7820 in Nova Scotia, Canada with 11 other people from our district. District 7120 will reciprocate District 7820's generosity by hosting their team in October. We are in need of one more Rotary family to host a couple from Nova Scotia for the dates October 1 - 6.

This is a chance to enjoy the company of Rotarians from across the border and, if desired, participate with them in activities here in the Rochester area. Since the couple in need of a host will have their own car, the host family will be able to take part as much or as little as they wish.

If you can host a Rotary Friendship Exchange couple from October 1 - 6, please contact Lisa Norwood by email at lisa.norwood@rochester.edu .
