TUESDAY LUNCHEON HIGHLIGHTS

Thank you St. John Fisher College President, Dr. Rooney for joining us as our guest speaker at the Tuesday luncheon! Congratulations - we wish you all the best for a successful year. Thank you to President-Elect Donna Dedee for bringing Dr. Rooney to Rotary.

Thank you to B2B Committee Co-Chair Andrew Brady for giving us an update on what the committee is working on this year. The committee works to put together our B2B Trade Show, B2B Connections Tours at area companies, Happy Hours and many other activities for the Club!

Congratulations to Don Cameron for being named our Bright Spot of the week. Don is one of our volunteer registration folks and is very active on a number of committees with us including our program committee that works to bring us our weekly luncheon speakers.

What's happening at the Sunshine Campus?

This is our second week with Camp Haccamo. They are having a great time!! The biggest thing this week is Prom - tonight the campers and staff will be treated to a sit down dinner served by Monroe County Rotarians.  Early in the day they had volunteers come in and do hair, makeup and nails for the girls and the guys got a little pampering too. We are looking forward to a great night.

Next week we welcome Heritage Kids, Volunteers of America Camp HEROES and AutismUp.

Cultural Exchange in Rochester
Recently our Rotary Club along with the Rush-Henrietta Club hosted the Golden Gates Student Troupe, which performed Russian and Georgian music and dance to audiences at the Sunshine Campus and at a R-H weekly meeting. Their interaction with these talented young adults helps foster good will across borders and develops a better understanding of other cultures, music and traditions. The visits benefit the Rotary Childrens Fund, which is 501c3 organization committed to building cultural bridges. We thank all those from our Club and Rush-Henrietta that hosted the students and supported this visit. Our International Service Committee will continue to pursue other opportunities for our Club members to interact with the breadth of activity that is Rotary International.

What is the "Tootsie Roll Bright Spot"?

Tootsie Roll Bright Spot - The Basics:

Rotary's Challenge - EREY - Every Rotarian, Every Year - to donate $100 to the Annual Giving Fund of the Rotary Foundation.

Rochester Rotary Makes it Fun
  • Pledge to give $100 - before June 30, 2016
  • You become a member of the Rochester Rotary "Tootsie Roll Family"
  • You get to name at "Tootsie Roll Bright Spot" - a fellow Rotarian, friend, co-worker - anyone -
  • That person is recognized at a Tuesday Rotary meeting with a gift of Tootsie Rolls - and public acknowledgement
  • YOU get a "Tootsie Roll Sticker" for your name badge to show your commitment to give $100 to the Rotary Foundation.
  • When you have completed that gift - you receive a Sustaining Member sticker for your badge from Rotary International

You can name a Tootsie Roll Bright Spot for every $100 you pledge.

To make a pledge or for more information contact Rotarian Hank Ralston at 697-0880 or hank@ralstonagency.com.

Apparel Order Form

From the Rotary Accounting Office

Thank you to those of you who have let me know their preference for either email or mail delivery of statements. We are working on a better system of delivery, to be more efficient and to decrease our costs. This fall I hope to start emailing to those of you who have requested it. It is certainly no problem at all to use standard mail, I understand it is easier for many of you!

Several members use credit cards for payment, our provider, Authorize.Net, is changing the way it is sending your receipts. The "from" email address will no longer be the rotary email address, it will read noreply@mail.authorize.net. If you do reply to this however, the email will still come to me. Also, the subject line will read "Transaction Receipt from Rochester Rotary Charitable Trust for $____. "Thank you for your order" is also being removed from the receipts. I know that causes confusion!

If you have any concerns or questions, don't hesitate to contact me!
