News of YOUR Club
Will you join us for President Tracy's
last meeting?

We hope you will join us for President Tracy's last meeting as Club President, Tuesday, June 23rd at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

As is tradition, Past President Bob Attardo will run our speaker/program portion of the luncheon where we will celebrate her year of leading us as we "Light Up Rotary" with a couple of surprises.

President Tracy's Journal

Thank you Thank you Don Alhart for a spectacular job hosting our 78th Annual Rotary Award luncheon!

It was a wonderful lunch and fantastic program to honor a man we all know and love.

Kurt Mueller's video was a smash - listening to friends and family speak from the heart about Jim Isaac was incredibly touching. As I said in my speech - "Jim's stellar character is infectious. He is classy, compassionate, warm, honest, devoted and hard working - the most deserving of this 78th Rotary Award."

Lisa Cox a Sunshine Camper Parent recently wrote:

"Jim Isaac is a wise and generous man, who represents your organization with grace and kindness. He does not seek rewards for his generosity. I am truly blessed that our affiliation with Rotary allowed us to meet such a positive force in our midst. Please know that his inclusion in your organization shines a very bright warm light on all Rotary is and does in our community."

Fellow Rotarian and friend of Jim's, Bob Enright spoke about his many years of admiration watching and working with Jim as ED of Rotary and now in his current role. It was laced with metaphors of tools, tool belts and ink pens great job Bob.

As if that was not enough fellow Rotarian, and son, Ray Isaac spoke of the lessons he learned and his undying gratitude, respect, high regard and love for his father and all that he is to family and our community.

The show stopper came when Jim spoke graciously accepting this honor but teaching us what Rotary is and what it means to him through his life experiences all the way back to a young boy. Jim's speech was riddled with praise of others whom he has worked with both in and out of Rotary. He introduced us to his family and shared antidotes on each. Jim expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Shirley his wonderful wife! Not many better than Jim - Thank you for all you do sir we are lucky to have you here in our Club and in our community!

Thank you our outstanding Rotary Award committee members and our chair Dan Meyers for all of your work on selecting our recipient each year for this prestigious luncheon. Thank you to Donna Dedee our VP of Engagement for your remarks at the luncheon!

Host International Rotarian Students

We need volunteers from our Club to host students from Russia, Ukraine and Georgia that will be visiting Rochester from July 20 - 22. The students are part of musical/dance group called Golden Gates, with their visit coordinated by a Rotarian based in the U.S. Their itinerary of activities in our area includes a visit to the Sunshine Campus. Hosts will be asked to open their homes for two nights (Monday and Tuesday) and provide breakfast to the students. If possible, hosts will transport students to a central location in our area in the mornings, but if unable the group coordinator can meet all transportation requirements. There are about 12 students coming to our community, so we need many volunteers.

If you can host, please contact Jeff Bartkoski (jbartkoski@mercyflightcentral.org or cell phone: 585-313-1766) or the Rotary Office by June 26th with the number of students you are willing to have stay overnight at your home on July 20 and 21. The students will have sleeping bags, thus a bed for each student is not required.

This is a great opportunity to show our hospitality and support for Rotary International.

Thank you.

We Need Your Help!

We are excited to have been chosen as the charity this year that will benefit from the Red Wings "Launch a Ball" promotion.  Folks who go to a Saturday game can buy a tennis ball before the game and throw them on the field after the game to try to win a prize.

The proceeds from this promotion will go to Sunshine Campus.  In addition to being talked about during the games, the camp will be featured in radio ads on Warm 101.3, 94.1 The Zone and 93.3 Fickle.

To make this succesful, we need you help.

We need eight volunteers for each Saturday night game this year, May 16th to August 29th.  All you have to do is sell tennis balls before the game, as a volunteer, you'll get to enjoy the game for free.

Plus, there will be fireworks after each game!

The following are dates that volunteers are needed:

July 4th

August 1st

August 15

August 29th

To sign up, contact Brandi at the Rotary office at 546-7435 x210 or brandi@rochesterrotary.org.
