News of YOUR Club
Delivery System Transformation

Join us Tuesday, June 9th at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center where our guest speaker will be Dr. Bridgette Wiefling , Chief Quality and Innovation Officer for the Rochester Regional Health System.

Dr. Wiefling will play a critical role in leading the delivery system transformation under the evolution of new payment models.  She will spearhead innovative strategies and initiatives to redesign delivery of medical services in a way that integrates safety, quality and care across the continuum, in order to enhance reliable clinical outcomes, improve transitions of care, establish organization-wide best practices in care pathways, and improve cost effectiveness of care to improve the experience of care in a way that helps patients to live their best lives while preparing the organization for expanded value based contracting and reimbursement.

President Tracy's Journal

It was such a special meeting Tuesday to have our Scholarship recipients Aviva Gomes and Iniabasi Ikpot join us and give us a few words of gratitude about what Rotary has meant to them after all these years! Thank you to the Schalorship Committee for all of their hard work and efforts in impacting the lives of our students!

Our guest speaker Major General Robert W. Mixon , Jr spoke to us about "The Leadership of Integrity" a co-founder of Level Five Associates  and 33 years in the US Army  he let us know about the difference between integrity as a virtue and integrity as an absolute. The world as we know it has fewer examples of leaders setting the example of integrity to their teams. This is true in all facets of society; sports, politics, religion and corporations. It is time for us to step up to the plate and demand absolute integrity - pretty simple you don't lie, steal or cheat.  He certainly acknowledged that he understood whom he was talking to pointing out our selfless values and life of integrity as Rotarians.

Excellent discussion and good questions after.....He and his partner  John Batiste will have a new book coming out soon  "Broken Arrow: The Leadership Crisis in America".

As we begin to wrap up my year we have a number of exciting and important events coming up and I hope to see you there! (the newsletter contains more details on each event)

78th Rotary Award Recipient -
James B. Isaac

Jim Isaac Fine

"Jim Isaac may best be identified in the Rochester region for his key role in building an iconic company, Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning.  For those who know him, however, including his fellow Rochester and Monroe County Rotarians, Jim Isaac has built his greater reputation on a selfless dedication to our community.

It's no exaggeration to say that nearly every day of his adult life, Jim Isaac helps an individual or organization in need.  That he does it at all is a monumental achievement, but everyone who meets Jim quickly learns that he executes his service with as much joy as he does purpose.  Jim's quick smile and calm manner have put more than a few people at ease with difficult situations - even before he gets to the task at hand."

                 -  Bob Enright

This year's luncheon will be held Tuesday, June 16th at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

Host International Rotarian Students

We need volunteers from our Club to host students from Russia, Ukraine and Georgia that will be visiting Rochester from July 20 - 22. The students are part of musical/dance group called Golden Gates, with their visit coordinated by a Rotarian based in the U.S. Their itinerary of activities in our area includes a visit to the Sunshine Campus. Hosts will be asked to open their homes for two nights (Monday and Tuesday) and provide breakfast to the students. If possible, hosts will transport students to a central location in our area in the mornings, but if unable the group coordinator can meet all transportation requirements. There are about 12 students coming to our community, so we need many volunteers.

If you can host, please contact Jeff Bartkoski (jbartkoski@mercyflightcentral.org or cell phone: 585-313-1766) or the Rotary Office by June 26th with the number of students you are willing to have stay overnight at your home on July 20 and 21. The students will have sleeping bags, thus a bed for each student is not required.

This is a great opportunity to show our hospitality and support for Rotary International.

Thank you.

We Need Your Help!

We are excited to have been chosen as the charity this year that will benefit from the Red Wings "Launch a Ball" promotion.  Folks who go to a Saturday game can buy a tennis ball before the game and throw them on the field after the game to try to win a prize.

The proceeds from this promotion will go to Sunshine Campus.  In addition to being talked about during the games, the camp will be featured in radio ads on Warm 101.3, 94.1 The Zone and 93.3 Fickle.

To make this succesful, we need you help.

We need eight volunteers for each Saturday night game this year, May 16th to August 29th.  All you have to do is sell tennis balls before the game, as a volunteer, you'll get to enjoy the game for free.

Plus, there will be fireworks after each game!

The following are dates that volunteers are needed:

June 20th

July 4th
