We Need Your Help!

We are excited to have been chosen as the charity this year that will benefit from the Red Wings "Launch a Ball" promotion.  Folks who go to a Saturday game can buy a tennis ball before the game and throw them on the field after the game to try to win a prize.

The proceeds from this promotion will go to Sunshine Campus.  In addition to being talked about during the games, the camp will be featured in radio ads on Warm 101.3, 94.1 The Zone and 93.3 Fickle.

To make this succesful, we need you help.

We need eight volunteers for each Saturday night game this year, May 16th to August 29th.  All you have to do is sell tennis balls before the game, as a volunteer, you'll get to enjoy the game for free.

Plus, there will be fireworks after each game!

The following are dates that volunteers are needed:

June 20th

July 4th

August 1st

August 15

August 29th

To sign up, contact Brandi at the Rotary office at 546-7435 x210 or [email protected].

78th Rotary Award Recipient -
James B. Isaac

Jim Isaac Fine

"Jim Isaac may best be identified in the Rochester region for his key role in building an iconic company, Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning.  For those who know him, however, including his fellow Rochester and Monroe County Rotarians, Jim Isaac has built his greater reputation on a selfless dedication to our community.

It's no exaggeration to say that nearly every day of his adult life, Jim Isaac helps an individual or organization in need.  That he does it at all is a monumental achievement, but everyone who meets Jim quickly learns that he executes his service with as much joy as he does purpose.  Jim's quick smile and calm manner have put more than a few people at ease with difficult situations - even before he gets to the task at hand."

                 -  Bob Enright

This year's luncheon will be held Tuesday, June 16th at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

ShelterBox Information on Nepal

As Nepal struggles to come to terms with a second major, deadly earthquake that hit on Tuesday morning, Rotary International's project partner organization, ShelterBox (www.shelterbox.org), continues to have response teams working to provide shelter to isolated communities in the country's mountainous regions.

Thanks to donors, ShelterBox was able to react instantly, and to date, ShelterBox has committed aid to more than 5,000 families, delivering tented shelter and other vital items needed in the current phase of recovery. Unfortunately aid supplies are diminishing. Therefore, the International Service Committee asks all Rochester Rotarians to pull together as a Rotary Club and help replenish stock for the ongoing Nepal response as well as the needs caused by future disasters. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to ShelterBox at
 http://shelterbox.kintera.org/rochesterrotary.

The Friendship Committee needs your help!

Do you know of any Rotarians who may be ill!

One of the functions of the Friendship Committee is to visit Rotarians who are confined to their home,  the hospital, a rehab unit or nursing home due to a sustained illness.  We have found that they really appreciate a visit.  But we need your help.  We can only make contact with those Rotarians who have been brought to our attention.  So, if you hear about someone who should be seen, please don't assume we know.

Please call Myrna at 546-7435 x201 to convey the information.

Thank You
