What's Happening at the Sunshine Campus
The Sunshine Camp had a wonderful 2 weeks. We are sorry it is coming to an end. The campers got to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones too. They have made memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to all the AMAZING staff for making these 2 weeks a success. This week we had Peter's Pals Putt-Putt. The campers really enjoyed pairing up with Rotarians and golfing 9 holes. After putting the campers, staff, and Rotarians enjoyed an ice cream social and mini carnival. Thank you to everyone who participated. Next week we welcome Heritage Christian Services.

President Bob's Journal
The Rochester Yacht Club was a beautiful setting for a summer-time luncheon meeting this past Tuesday. The presentation by Vice Commodore Tom Ehman and Laurent Esquire of the Golden Gate Yacht Club was fantastic. The GGYC is hosting the 34th America's Cup, where several countries already are competing to determine who will challenge the United States for the Cup in September. The speakers were in San Francisco and gave their presentation, which included PowerPoint slides and video clips, by Skype. We saw that the catamaran boats are reaching speeds equivalent to 50 mph, and literally fly out of the water. We learned that the competition is being held in San Francisco Bay, as opposed to the ocean, which makes viewing spectacular. Be sure to check it out on television. Thank you Rotarian Hank Stuart, and the Rochester Yacht Club, for hosting the event, and for taking 35 Rotarians sailing for the remainder of the afternoon. It was a beautiful day!
The Peter's Pals Putt Putt Tournament for the kids at the Sunshine Campus was another great success. Thank you to all Rotarians who participated and volunteered serving dinner and ice cream. Attendance by Rotarians at Camp Carnival and the Putt Putt Tournament was excellent this year. Thank you. The kids and camp staff appreciate our support, for which you all should be very proud.

What is going on in the district?
Welcome to the New Rotary Year. It will be a great year for our District filled with many great to keep everyone fired up about ROTARY. One of the Annual Distict Events that you don't want to miss is the Rotary Day at the Rochester Red Wings. This year's event will be on August 3rd at Frontier Field and will be against the Syracuse Chiefs from our neighboring Rotary Distrct 7150. To add a little spice to the game there has been a friendly challenge made between the two District Governors. If the Rochester Red Wings win then the District 7150 Governor Dennis Schonewetter has to make a donation of $ 1 for every Rotarian ticket sold to the Rotary Foundation. If however by some miracle Syracuse wins the game then our District Governor Ellen Hughes has to make the donation. An added attraction is we get to see DG Ellen throw out the first pitch, I hear she is practicing.
One dollar of every ticket sold goes to suuport the District Literacy Committee and its projects. The District Literacy Committee's mission is to be a source of ideas and inspiration, as well as a resource for materials designed to help clubs address literacy needs in their communities. Please bring a new or gently used children's book to be distributed to schools within District 7120. These books can be dropped off at the 50/50 table located in the main breezeway.
Come early and share a delicious picnic, or just come to the game, support the Wings and help our cause.
The club that sells the most tickets can provide the
HONORARY RED WINGS BAT-KID FOR THE GAME!!!
Gates open and picnic begins at 6:00pm (Picnic will go on rain or shine!)
This your chance to come out and have a great time with Rotarians from across the District, and help both the Rotary Foundation and Literact all at the same time.
Hope to see you there!!!!
