Dr. Anne Kress, President of MCC, exceeded all expectations at Tuesday's luncheon meeting with a riveting, fact filled, and plain English vision of what the college will accomplish at the new "Kodak" Damon City Campus. What an engaging, articulate, and enthusiastic leader she is. Great program! Great College! And, Great to have MCC's commitment to downtown Rochester. Occupancy for the new campus is scheduled to begin in 2016.

Remember when Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring? Well, I support the Ohio prosecutor who has filed court papers accusing Phil of misrepresentation and fraud, and asking for the death penalty. I also heard that the Mafia has a contract out on him. Enough of this reckless rodent I say!
I am officially sick of winter and was so happy to hear Don Alhart announce that it may reach 60 degrees on Sunday! That was better news than the Dow being up 70 points. I'm reminded of this classic little saying so appropriate for this time of year?
Spring has sprung, the grass has riz, I wonder where the birdies is?

Fellowship Tuesday, April 2nd. I have heard over and over again this past year that we do not have enough time at our weekly luncheons to talk and get to know those at our tables. Well, this coming Tuesday is my response to all those who have commented. There will be no speaker, there will be ample time for open conversation, and, we will have a couple of "conversation starters" at each table regarding membership and networking. Every Rotarian ranks Fellowship as one of the top reasons why they enjoy their membership, and Tuesday's meeting is specifically designed to build goodwill and better friendships. Please make a special effort to attend.

This week's Tootsie Roll Bright Spot Award was presented to Andrew Brady. Andrew is a new member and has displayed a wonderful commitment to all that we do. He has joined committees, volunteered for work details, community service events, social events, and attends almost every Tuesday luncheon. He has become famous in the club as the Face of New Member Engagement. His firm is XLR8 Team, Inc., which is a training and professional development company. One of his major clients is Wegmans! Seek him out and say hello - he is a terrific guy and a generous member of Rochester Rotary.

Reminder. The PGA Championship at Oak Hill is on the verge of selecting Rochester Rotary and our Sunshine Campus as one of the major charities to provide volunteers for the event to be held August 5th - 11th. If you have a potential interest in volunteering, I need you to send an email to Myrna at the Rotary Office, [email protected], with the subject line of PGA. This is not a commitment, just an expression of interest. Please send her an email right now.

Judge Johnny's Fines and Recognition Report:
- Past President Andre Godfrey volunteered a $50 fine on behalf of a Four-Way Test violation by the women who worked in the Entre Computer booth at last week's Trade Show. Seems like Don Cameron won the booth's door prize, but they wanted to give the prize to Scott Rasmussen because he was better looking.
- Paul DeCarolis was "called out" by Past President Joe Floreano for having excessively good luck last week. Paul won 3 door prizes at the B2B Trade Show, and that evening won a significant 50/50 drawing at the Italian Heritage Dinner! Being a good sport and a very generous Rotarian, Paul agreed to make a $100 contribution to the Rotary Foundation. I love these guys!
- In the Turn About is Fair Play category, Past President Barry Culhane called out Joe Floreano for attending a prestigious event, hob knobbing with people of power and influence, and not wearing his Rotary Pin! Barry assessed a $50 fine on Joe who did express remorse and regret for his violation.
- Note to All Members: These "fines" are all in good fun, mostly pre-arranged, and never intended to cost a member more than they have volunteered to pay. I restate; the maximum fine for recognition or humorous violations is $25 unless voluntarily increased by the person involved. And, all $ goes to the great causes of the Rotary Foundation.
