NOVEMBER 2012
Beginners ABC's -- To teach dancers more effectively (& with more retention), we have 3 levels of Beginner classes. A-Newcomer, B-Beginning2 & C-Beyond Beginning. This is up to a total of 12 weeks of Beginner class to encourage the muscle memory a beginning dancer needs to become a competent & comfortable dancer. NOTE: each class contains new material. OUR MONTHLY SPECIALS ARE LISTED IN RED

Month 2. (4 mo.Full Bronze Waltz & Foxtrot, no drop-ins)

Simple and fun for both beginners and advanced. A "walking-type" Waltz with many variations, and a very relaxed dance hold.

THE GREAT SHOE EXCHANGE @ SATURDAY SOCIAL
NOV. 3rd PARTY
Many dance shoes have been discovered in the studio. In the spirit of Thanksgiving and sharing we've decided to create a SHOE EXCHANGE
during our next party on November 3rd. I have many used shoes to donate also, and I know others do as well. So bring your own trades or just help yourself to some shoes if you have need! Many sizes, men and ladies

Dance Notes:
FIRST SATURDAY SOCIAL DANCE-October We had many friends returning from the summer! The basic idea for the dance was Indian Summer so we tried (operative word) to come up with Native American-type foods. I think the vote was that whatever the food was it was good! Thanks for joining us and creating an awesome party!
FRIDAY SWING HALLOWEEN PARTY- October This party was awesome! Creepy foods like worm dogs added to the fun while monsters and ghouls danced up a storm. We had our first ever social J&J SWING contest! (J&J means your partner is unknown and totally luck of the draw) Winners of the ECS Jack&Jill were: Robert Boutin with a followers tie of Deirdre Lawrence & Karen Maynard
Winners of the WCS were Michael Terry & Rachelle Abel. The pot for each J&J this month was $30

Linda Springstead, owner and operator of DanceWell, has been a premier instructor in the Portland area since 1988. Instrumental in providing good form and technique for social dancers of PDX past and present, she is known for lively and fun classes and lessons for both Beginning and Advanced students.
