Instant Connections, November 19

This one-hour networking event is in a roundtable format and will allow attendees to share information about their respective businesses. Attendees are allowed two minutes at each table to share information and then move to a new audience.  Session is free; but a $10 no-show fee applies to any cancelations after November 15. Instant Connections is limited to the first 32 responders and is a members-only event.

SOUTH City Music Series, November 19

In order to increase awareness of local "hot spots", the South Oklahoma City Chamber along with Presenting and Music Sponsor, Foshee & Yaffe, Attorneys at Law, will provide live entertainment at a different presenting location one Tuesday a month through November. Each venue will host the evening with the entertainment and a food and drink special for Chamber members.

Pilates at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, November 18

Attendees must be 12 or older. Attendees or their guardian must sign a waiver to attend at each class. Attendees are encourages to bring their own mat, none will be provided.  Pilates is a body-conditioning routine that may help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advance. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

MAPS 20th Anniversary Celebration, December 6

This December marks the 20th anniversary of the passage of the original Metropolitan Area Projects (MAPS). Through a temporary once-cent sales tax, the citizens of Oklahoma City collected $363 million to fund nine quality of life projects that jump started the city's modern day Renaissance. Join us on the floor of the Chesapeake Energy Arena for a MAPS celebration on December 6 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.  A cocktail hour with light hors d'oeuvres will proceed the program, which will feature exciting elements from the Oklahoma City Thunder game day experience, including visits from Rumble the Bison and the Thunder Girls followed by the introduction of key players from MAPS. Mayors Norick, Humphreys, and Cornett will be on hand to address the attendees.
