The old Navistar International engine plant in Huntsville is under new ownership.
Tuscaloosa-based Pate Holdings said it closed on the purchase of the building in Jetplex Industrial Park near Huntsville International Airport on Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 55-acre property spans more than 555,000 square feet and can accommodate manufacturing, warehouse and logistics work. Pate Holdings owner Stan Pate said the facility is among the best available industrial sites in the Southeast.
Pate believes the property will be successful given President Donald Trump's position on manufacturing and job creation in America.

February 2017
Twenty years ago this month the very first gleaming M-Class Mercedes-Benz sports utility vehicle drove off the assembly line in Tuscaloosa County. The year was 1997. "Titanic" was sailing across the big screen, the Fed's prime rate was an unthinkable 5.5 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed above 7,000 for the first time.
Fast forward to modern times, and much has blossomed from that first bud.
Alabama OEMs Honda, Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz combined to produce at least 1,048,597 vehicles in 2016, according to figures released by the Alabama Department of Commerce.
The shelves are stocked. The employees are trained. The last produce and meat will go out just before the long-anticipated downtown Birmingham Publix opens.
The store opens Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7 a.m., just after a 6:45 a.m. ribbon cutting with Mayor William Bell. The store is the first of Publix's urban stores to open in the Birmingham market.
The store at 230 20th St. S. will have regular hours of 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. This store will have a full deli as well as hot soup options. Publix spokeswoman Brenda Reid said this location will especially emphasize lunch options, including sushi, and the store has a small cafe and in-store wifi.
