AT&T to make 'major announcement' about new technology in North Alabama
on October 10, 2016

Officials from AT&T will be in Huntsville this week to make a "major announcement" about new technology in the area.

AT&T Alabama State President Fred McCallum, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, Madison Mayor Troy Trulock and Alabama House of Representatives Speaker Mac McCutcheon will gather at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the DirecTV Call Center on 400 Diamond Drive.

A spokesman with AT&T couldn't give details about the event, but said it is a big announcement for both consumers and small businesses in the greater Huntsville community. The company announced in December 2015 it would offer GigaPower speeds in Huntsville by late 2016.
