Silver Airways coming to the Birmingham Airport in June

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Silver Airways is coming to the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport in June.

 

The airport made the announcement during a news conference on Thursday morning.

"We are thrilled to be bringing the airline of choice for Florida and the Bahamas to the Southeast," said Silver Airways CEO Sami Teittinen. "We look forward to providing customers with our convenient and much needed flights linking Birmingham with New Orleans and Jacksonville, as well as one-stop connections to other Silver Airways destinations in Florida and Bahamas."

 

The airline will offer nonstop, twice daily flights between Birmingham to New Orleans, LA and nonstop daily service between Birmingham and Jacksonville, FL beginning on June 16.

BigRep ONE, largest FDM 3D Printer, is making is first debut in Alabama at AlabamaGermany Partnership's event at MPAD Center at UAB

BigRep ONE 3D Printer is coming from Berlin in Germany; right after its debut at the New York 3D Printing Show, directly to AlabamaGermany Partnership's (AGP) networking event on Friday, April 24, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Materials Processing and Applications Development (MPAD) Center at UAB.

 

At the event the BigRep One 3D printer will be introduced and demonstrated by BigRep (Berlin, Germany) and the American distributor 3D Print Dimensions based in Auburn, AL. The printer is the largest 3D printer with over 1 cubic meter build volume capable of producing parts with various thermoplastic materials. 

This printer is remarkable in its size and the price is a fraction of other large-format 3D printers cost. This is the first time outside of a show event here in US that this printer will be presented and demonstrated.
