A discussion that began in Andalusia in late February ended Monday in Daegu , Korea when In Tae Heo, president of SaeHaeSung, signed a memorandum of understanding with the City of Andalusia to expand his local plant.

The agreement represents a $2 million investment by SaeHaeSung.

Mayor Earl Johnson and other city officials were already slated to be in Korea to call on several prospects, including a company that is actively looking for a location in South Alabama. Officials: Sweetwater development in Decatur-annexed Limestone County to include Bass Pro (updated)
on March 10, 2014

DECATUR, Alabama - Officials with the city of Decatur confirmed today that the proposed Sweetwater commercial project will be anchored by Bass Pro Outdoor World on the corner of Interstate 65 and I-565 in a portion of Decatur-annexed Limestone County.

Decatur Mayor Don Kyle said the long-term, more than 500-acre development will be a significant draw for other commercial interests, including new retail stores, restaurants and more.

The 100,000-square-foot sporting goods store, which Kyle said will have an estimated value of $34 to $35 million, would be the state's fourth Bass Pro Shops. The company also operates locations in Leeds, Prattville and Spanish Fort.

"This is an exciting prospect," Kyle said this afternoon. "Bass Pro tends to have other stores that follow where they locate."
