Get Started
Your Tools for Economic Development
Research can be a powerful tool in the hands of community leaders. It can help you better understand your starting point and craft a more realistic and achievable development strategy. The Center has developed and tested three new tools to help you Get Started:
  • Development Opportunity Profile brings together secondary data to help you understand your economy and its drivers.
  • Philanthropic Opportunity Profile presents data to help you understand your community's specific opportunity to capture philanthropic resources in support of development.
  • Generational Diversity Profile shares data to help you understand generational change in your community and what it means for leadership, development and philanthropy.
You can learn more about these new entry-level tools - and other supporting resources - on our new Get Started webpage. We've shared a sample profile developed through our field work and partnership with Communities Unlimited so you can see each profile in action! To learn more or to explore having a profile completed for your community, contact Dana Williams (dana@e2mail.org).
