Growing Entrepreneurial Communities Summit

Save the Date! May 4-5, 2016, Kansas City
|
The Center is partnering with a number of leading entrepreneurial development organizations to host one of the most important gatherings on entrepreneurial ecosystems in 2016. Our Growing Entrepreneurial Communities Summit will bring together leading practitioners working to create and grow entrepreneurial ecosystems in urban and rural places. This working and learning gathering will afford remarkable networking opportunities. Space is limited and we expect the Summit to fill up quickly. To prime your pump for this event, we are sharing a recent article, co-authored with Dr. Tom Lyons and published in Community Development: "Creating Entrepreneurial Communities: building community capacity for ecosystem development."

The Appalachian Regional Commission is a regional development agency that represents a federal, state and local government partnership. Its mission is to "innovate, partner, and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth" in the 13-state Appalachian Region. For most of 2015, the Center led a team of partners who worked with ARC to gather input from across the Region and develop ARC's 2011-2016 Strategic Plan - Investing in Appalachia's Future. We are proud to have been part of articulating a new investment plan for this important agency and the region it serves.
